Forspoken System Requirements announced - 8700k & 3070 for 1440p/30, 12700k & 4080 for 4K/60

I suspect that's with everything maxed out, and there will be some good optimizations to be found.
Assuming they weren't lying, direct storage with HDD would make load times around 20 seconds which really isn't that bad for a HDD
They should, if they are actually including resolution and frame rate targets.
Nebulous specs sheets that don't have that information are meaningless though.
they even updated the demo and took the feedback to heart. Respect.
CPU requirements are quite light I would say.

either way I am not covering this game till after launch btw, so no one expect a vid from me on this game coming out on launch day.

Yup this is going to be fun.
Either this game is a MW2-style showcase for AMD's hardware, or the spec sheet was super conservative for what nVidia card you'd need for 4k60.
I thought DirectStorage required an SSD? If it could make use of HDDs more viable, that would be a good news.
If the PC version has the same implementation as the console version I would assume that the performance hit from raytracing would be tiny. I'd hope that they will expand on raytracing for the PC version though.
They should, but are they? Some those AMD to Nvidia or Intel equivalents are kind of random. 6700XT to 3070, but 6800XT to 4080? And R5 1600 to i7 3770? Maybe I'm too cynical, but I can't recall the last time these marketing sheets were correct.

Something tells me the recommended tier has 30fps as target because the game is CPU-bound af or something (3600 might be getting old), I don't know, like Watch Dogs legion, 30fps was "easily" doable, but more than that required a beefy CPU.
Though 3070 for 1440p/30 is iffy

Unreal Engine Open World games on PC are genuinely pretty disasterous usually, so I would not hope for something like that!
This game is probably going to run like ass on nvidia gpus. From reviews I am seeing the rtx 4080 is like 56% faster than the 6800 xt. How does this make any sense?

Not really? Games have been recommending 32GB for a while at this point, and Forspoken is current-gen only. No PS4 release.
I'm just happy that my 2018 PC build can still exceed recommended specs and PS5 perf after last years GPU upgrade (that was less expensive than buying console).
Dont forget the 16GB of ram and 720p resolution.
Also is this the first time NVMe was on the highest specs list? Those ultra settings look....whew....
