Judging by a lot of reactions, I'm assuming some of us had no clue lol. I never bothered with the chat, because I thought I needed the phone setup.Pretty sure this was known for a while. Basically the Switch can output voice chat without the stupid phone shit, but Nintendo insists on pushing their shitty phone app.
Being obtuse because that's what they do sometimes.
My hands cramped for the first 20 hours of Zelda, but my hands adjusted since then and I no longer feel the hand cramps. This has been the case for me with every single handheld. Always hurts at the the start, then my hands get used to them. PSP might have taken me the longest.I wouldn't play Fortnite on Switch regardless.
But just thinking about playing in handheld with those joycons gives me carpel tunnel. Awful experience.
It's why I stopped going to the Reddit sub. "But it doesn't matter that the PSP could do voice chat! You don't know what's going on under the Switch's hood!"Remember when people were actually defending this, talking about technical aspects and what not.
Nintendo being Nintendo.
Yeah, but why would I spend time adjusting when I could just use the vastly superior pro controller? My hands cramped for the first 20 hours of Zelda, but my hands adjusted since then and I no longer feel the hand cramps. Splatoon 2 lets you do it when doing LAN matches but not in online matches so it's been there for a long time, if not since launch. Nintendo just doesn't use it outside of LAN cuz fuck you that's why :P...why dont other 3rdParty titles use that function ? Is that something that was added recently ?
I can see why Nintendo would force you to use the stupid app....but other devs ?

I know about the Splatoon 2 LAN support ....just wondering why no other dev or software used it before the way Epic is now ?Splatoon 2 lets you do it when doing LAN matches but not in online matches so it's been there for a long time, if not since launch. I think you know why.How did this cool Fortnite thread turn into a shitting on Nintendo thread. I mean... every fricking time.
Seriously, just stop making excuses. Voice chat is trivial in terms of resources. There is no technical reason they don't support it on a system level. Just their brain-dead policy to push it onto a phone app. This means nothing. The problem is providing this with a built-in background app, not bult in the software itself.
Almost like they made themselves a target for mockery when they thought this was a good idea:How did this cool Fortnite thread turn into a shitting on Nintendo thread. I mean... every fricking time.
