Potential issues include uploading from mobile, not saving the avatar as a .png before uploading it, or resizing weirdness. Here's a smaller version of your particular avatar to rule out the third:

The previous avatar size limit being removed makes it so that posting full-sized avatar crops is presumably viable now... but apparently there can still be issues.

Also it seems the avatars dimensions all changed. This is the only one that I have that does not cut the arms from the avatar.
