Fox News again obsessing over "WAP" as Cardi B annihilates Candace Owens about it on Twitter

Strap in, Era. We're in for a Twitter ride.

After the "controversial" performance of "WAP" by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion at the Grammys this week, Fox News has yet again turned its attention to the song, vilifying black women as they usually do and calling it out as being inappropriate for television while continuing to show the performance over and over.

With their reignited obsession, Cardi took to Twitter today to thank Fox News and Candace Owens for the promotion:

This then led to a back and forth between Cardi and Owens, as the latter doubled doubled down on hypocritical commentary and how women are supposed to act in order to be treated well by men.

It did not go well for Owens.

Full old tweet in which Owens predicts Denzel Washington and Cardi B would come out as Kanye-like "free thought" Trumpers:

(Cardi ended up being one of the most outspoken mainstream artists in support of both Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, conducting interviews with each of them to help spread their messages.)

In response to Owens calling out Cardi "shoving her vagina into another woman's vagina," Cardi brings up a 2020 tweet from Owens that may or may not be fake:

Full tweet that may or may not be fake:

Owens then does the thing that everyone like her does: threatens to sue the moment something possibly not true about them surfaces after literally making a career out of demonizing people with bigotry and lies:

Finally, Cardi caps it off with some additional promotion and an invitation to Owens:

I don't think Candace has any room to be mad about potentially some loose facts lol.

Either way have this cursed version of WAP

Dang, cycled back to WAP already. Shows how little culture war material they have. Glad to see Cardi take advantage of it.

I really don't follow modern music at all, but anything that has Fox News mad must be good. That thumbnail with Tucky sporting a facial expression as if to say "Aww, you poor thing" is hilarious to me.

I dont understand why conservatives are attacking Cardi B for performing a song live that has already been thru the conservative outrage ringer.

Why aren't they instead attacking the actual people who booked the performance on the Grammys and most DEFINITELY watched rehearsals and probably had a lot of input about what she could and couldnt do. Its not like she barged in on live TV and made the cameras zoom into them while they scissored.

Its probably because its a lot easier for the mouth breathing fox news masses to believe that Cardi B is bad and ruining our country.

I’ve been trying to find a fact check on that tweet about her husband cheating with her brother, but can’t find a reputable source. Surprised that Snopes doesn’t have an entry for it.

Because racism. It's easier to pin the whole outrage cycle on a prominent black woman rather than doing all that extra work

Because the images are provocative. That’s the whole point of this type of culture war outrage. The whole idea is to pit people on seperate sides and have people slap fight each other.

Putting the blame on the Grammys doesn’t have anywhere close to the immediate emotional response that two women scissoring themselves while talking about WAP does.

It’s like Australia’s prime minister being a shithead and saying that protestors are lucky to live in Australia and not get shot for protesting. One half of the country will say that he’s being patriotic, other half will say he’s being a piece of shit. Murdoch Press gets an entire month of op-Ed material about how the left can’t respect democracy.

Edit: To add to the culture war bullshit conservative media uses to split the public, when they can’t get it working it just ends up bad for them because they have no policy. Western Australia just had an election and the Labor Party (I guess our Democrats?) just curbstomped every other party by winning like 95% of state seats. Putin wishes he could get results like that.

Same. 95% of the time in these cases, you can do a Google search and find the original source.

Which leads me to believe that there is a legitimate possibility that the tweet is real, even if it's a quickly deleted attempt at being "edgy."

Aside from the obvious racism, this is what Fox News becomes when there is a popular democratic president. They have absolutely fucking nothing on Biden. Nothing.

it’s our turn to revel in fake news now, bring it up any time your conservative friends praise Candace O and if they try to claim it’s fake just tell them that’s their opinion

We all know the reason why.
