- Despite a slight decline, it is still the 2nd best year ever for the videogame industry in France.
- Mobile crossed 1B€ for the first time

The Sell also published the list of the 20 best-selling games of the year (bundles not included) :

Impressive Switch software performance - also MS being the top 3rd Party publisher on that plattform.

Minecraft Dungeons needed cross plattform support down the line.

the nintendo/switch domination is absolutely insane!
good to see link's awakening doing well and botw still pulling big numbers. slightly disappointed with mario maker 2 tho :/

Minecraft Dungeons needed cross plattform support down the line.
i remember them saying switch cross play is coming after launch.

The numbers does not include digital sales, impressive numbers for Switch sales.

FIFA still remains an absolute beast saleswise in Europe and espacially in France...

Not overly alarming with the decline given we have new consoles soon.

Microsoft really needs to aim to shrink that gap on Fifa between the PS4 and X1 next gen.

God damn, Switch completely dominating.
I wish we had something similar here in Spain, but alas they are making it even more opaque than before.

No shock to see FIFA top of the pile. I know a lot of people at work with consoles, but all they'll play is the latest COD or FIFA each year. Maybe the bit of GTA as well. I can't talk really because for the past few months I've only been playing FIFA 20. I'm addicted to career mode. My Birmingham team is boss 💪

I added the revenue charts in the OP

We can see some new entry on it (RingFit, Mario & Sonic, Black Ops 4)

The Netherlands
Pokémon Sun/Moon: 805k
Pokémon Sword/Shield: 628k

Without digital, of course.

LM3 sales are amazing, very impressive showing.

Can someone explain the difference between TLOZ:LA in the combined chart and in the individual format chart?

Interesting that both Ring Fit Adventure and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (Switch) charted on the revenue charts.

Also:
Best-selling Switch games (physical):

01./ Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 1,561,153
02./ The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 884,482
03./ Super Mario Odyssey – 873,260
04./ Super Mario Party – 677,704
05./ Pokémon Sword/Shield – 628,453
06./ Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 585,888
07./ Splatoon 2 – 492,849
08./ New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 429,628
09./ Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition – 420,419
10./ Luigi's Mansion 3 – 395,355

Splatoon 2 is missing its 2019 sales, but I don't think they were enough to push it at n°6.
BotW is missing its special editions, but we can't know how much they sold because the combined chart included the Wii U game.

But:

1-2 Switch – 363,561. 2019 is missing for 1-2 Switch, so if it sold more than 32k last year, it should be over LM3.

Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu/Evoli – ~400,000?. Let's Go, Evoli didn't chart in 2018 and neither did the special editions, but Nintendo had announced the games had sold over 400k. Since n° 20 on the 2018 individual chart sold 156,854 units, Evoli sold less than that. Pikachu sold 229,857 units. We don't know how much the games+Pokéball Plus sold. Depending on how much it sold in 2019, the combined games should crack the top 10 (I'd say above NSMBUDX at the minimum)

I put the LTD sales in the OP if it can help you (I think some of your numbers are missing something).

Special Editions are not included in the individual format chart.
This is why there is a 50k difference for MM2: the game+stylet is considered another SKU, and it was very popular

FIFA, COD and Nintendo. About sums up the Europe game market nowdays.

Though I wonder if digital included Nintendo loses a lot of ground like the EMEAA charts seem to show. Assuming these charts dont include digital.

You are right, I made a mistake for Smash, I used the numbers from the individual chart for 2019.
BotW is probably higher too, but we can't know exactly how much since the 1,014,528 number includes both the Switch Special editions and the WiiU game.

If you include digital it's almost assured FIFA 20, COD MW, SW, FIFA 19, RDR2 will get a bump in sales. (excluding Nintendo since we will never get digital sales from them)

Problem with the EMEAA charts is that Nintendo digital sales are not included. Even worse, physical data from a big market like Germany isn't included but its digital sales are which penalize Nintendo games a lot.

If you go by units probably....since many of older AAA games are on sale very often across all digital plattform. By revenue it might be more even.

But we will never know exactly.

Really dominating numbers for Nintendo. The top 12 software titles is kind of astonishing. How does Sony do in France in last generations? I know they typically do well in Europe, especially with FIFA but my understanding is France has been one of Nintendo's stronger European markets so curious how Sony has performed their in the past generations.

Only for the Switch : 1.25m in 2019.

We knew that PS4/XB1 had sharp declines and we got a confirmation : 1.93m consoles were sold in 2019 meaning ~680k between the PS4 and the XB1 (vs ~1.17m last year).
PS4/XB1 probably sold more than that.
We know that the Switch sold 1.25m units, but that includes the Switch Lite, and I think the Lite is counted as a handheld console. I don't see why else there would be an increase in that market in 2019

Oh you are indeed right something around 200k for the Switch seems reasonable so 880k for the PS4/XB1 (with Lite > XB1)

A small detail but I like how the Pokemon version names are localised. Weird that it's not more common?

To give an idea of the raw numbers : everything above SMM2 (#18) is above 200k. Call of Duty (#2) is above 500k and FIFA above 1.5m.
Everything in top 20 (well, at least top 22) is above 200k since Anno 1800 and Division 2 hit 200k and are not top 20. They forgot to give RE2 its Platinum Award.

Good catch.

They didn't forget to give the Award to RE2 imo since it probably got there with some deep dicounting which make it ineligible.

I think you can't compare without Digital. I wish it was possible to know percentage of Physical / Digital on each platform, but my feeling is Nintendo is mostly physical.
France are on Playstation and Nintendo mostly, yes. France love Japan.

I think France remains a mostly physical market (especially for new releases) given how cheaper games are at retail vs digital. You can get most of the big releases for 33% less than on digital storefronts.
