The flyboard is like a jetpack and is powered by gas turbines. According to Zapata, it can fly up to an altitude of 3,000 metres and reach 90mph. The man on board the flyboard was actually Franky Zapata, the CEO of Zapata, who admits his invention is very similar to the hoverboard used by Marty McFly in the Back to the Future films. Bastille Day commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, one of the key events of the French Revolution. The day has become a national holiday in France. This year some 4,300 soldiers, around 200 vehicles and over 100 aircraft, some from other European countries, took part in the parade.

I'd imagine for now it's a fake gun and wouldn't work with realistic recoil.

Now if we're going full Metal Gear, it would have a link system to the weapon and would automatically compensate the thrusters for recoil.
