I read somewhere that they initially didn't have the license to include Jason X and Freddy vs Jason, but as development has gone on those rights were gained. I'm afraid I can't link back to anything official from illfonic / gun on this, just what I've heard on other forums.

I've read that paramount wouldn't even have a meeting with them to get reboot Jason. I hope that now that the game is successful that'll change.

I asked in the discord and it seems to be they don't have the rights to Freddy's name so they can't use Jason from the movie which made some sense until I thought "can't they call him something else?" like Part 11 Jason or vs. Jason or something. Who knows, either way it still seems dumb.
Or 'Weak Jason'....as he was a mere shadow of his former self from the earlier films

Eh he was fine. Deceptively fast, just as stealthy, apparently not afraid of water when awake lol speaking of that movie instead of fucking water they should have had his fear being having his mom hate him like C'mon guys.
If I were putting him in the game I'd have his strength and weaknesses as so:
+weapon speed/strength/destruction (one of these)
+shift
+morph
-walk speed (basically no power walk when you click in the stick)
-sense
-stun/hit points (either one)

I just picked this up a couple days back and having a blast with it.

I'm SO glad they kept team killing with cars. It makes for hilarious moments like this

I got killed by a car today, but it was less fun. The driver and Jason were working together. The counsellor that was with me tried to get in the car but the driver wouldn't move until Jason killed the passenger. The Jason then quickly killed everyone else and escorted the driver around the map so they could complete all the objectives.The two then ran in circles until the timer expired and then bragged about it in the lobby, and in messages to the passenger they killed.
I've never witnessed player conduct so bad that I've recorded evidence to report players in any game before.
Had the same thing happen to me the other night. Must be the cool new way to play.
I'm fine with car kills, it's not easy to do, requires a Jason "helper" to get lucky and have the keys, and really it's super easy to avoid the car with how limited its movement is where it can go.
The two were the worst. The messages they sent were really scummy, and after wasting everyone's time all match they just laughed and mocked those that stayed until the end game lobby. Thankfully this was on PS4 so it was really easy to grab evidence to send to gun.
In isolation, the car kill is actually quite fun to watch when you think it's an accident. I was running to the car to escape. They were reversing at speed (I assumed they were reversing to help us get in) and then at the last moment they swerved into an arc. We thought it was an accident at first and laughed because Kenny in his pink hot pants rag dolled into the splits.
Then having to watch them work together to kill the other counsellors, fulfill all the objectives, and waste everyone's time - not so much.

1st match: Repaired the car as Tiffany. While I was looking for keys someone drove off with it. I managed to run to the main road to try to meet up with them, only for them to blow past me.
Then I repaired the phone box AS TIFFANY and called the cops. Went to Higgins Haven main house and hid in that hard to notice spot in the bathroom to wait for the cops. Jason searched the place for about 4 minutes, obviously didn't know about that hiding spot. Then the only other survivor walks from across the map to my location and leads Jason right to me. Jason kills me, and the last survivor and Jason just fuck around until the time runs out.
2nd match: Different lobby. I get Jason. On my second kill the host quits.
Fuck this game and this game's community.

Standard multi with 'randoms' is probably more viable for me at times as I play at odd hours of the day and sometimes I don't want to join in on voice chat.
If I am ever in a private match and I'm not necessarily chatty I apologise in advance :)

I once had a Jason working with a counselor to kill all of the other counselors. I found out because a minute in we were both inside a house I was boarding up and he opens the door and starts attacking me (Counselor). Jason runs in, I while injured badly jump out a window and make a crazy slow dash away that included diving in and out of a few houses while avoiding both players. Finally I get lucky because another counselor runs by and takes there attention. I get away and one of my friends who was in the party commented he was just killed by the duo. I am getting kinda pissed about the situation because it kills the games vibe so as the last counselor left I hide in a locker and decide I will extend the time as much as I can.
About 10 minutes go by and then I realize that other counselors can see me (bad counselor) and he leads Jason to me. I am hiding in a closet, there is about a minute left. both of them come in the room. Jason hits the closet but the game is not recognizing the hit damage. The counselor then shoots the closet but clips Jason. Jason gets pissed and attacks the counselor. Counselor gets pissed he is getting attacked and shoots Jason again. Jason kills the counselor he has been working with since minute one.
As Jason turns back to the closet I am hiding in, the timer ends and I win. The in game party chat was hysterical over this and rightfully bad mouthed the counselor and Jason who quickly left. I had that little feeling inside that justice was served.
A Jason + Councillor duo seems more common than I first suspected. I've only had it once and it ruins the game. What's even fun about no threat and getting everyone killed whilst you fuck about? Goto private games for that.

People keep telling me to play in private groups but I don't understand how anyone can have 7 adult friends with adult schedules who always happen to be available to play whenever they want.
Seems like a pipe dream to me.
Alrighty, haven't played this game in months...having a good time my first match, got the battery and gas into the 4 door. Hear someone turning it on, hell yeah let's go!.... Motherfucker drives away then comes back to run us all over. Cool, nice fucking community.

I ended up killing Jason 5 straight times yesterday. Right now the balance is in the counselors favor, Jason needs tweaking. Attacking him or getting close to him in general should be a last resort.
Don't get me wrong, I feel like the balance between the two sides is almost perfect but right now it favors the counselors and Jason is a bit of a joke but things can he fixed with a few tweaks.
Personally I'd like to see the fear system get some changes. Like if you're too close to Jason you should not only stumble when you run but you should also fall over.

It's a great Scooby Doo sim at the moment.
The counselor perks in the right order can be devastating for a Jason player, I've been wrecked constantly but never outright killed - I also have never ever quit the match when things were going really wrong for me as Jason. Also, I've tried to at least play one other match after (as a counselor, that is) because there was no hard feelings.
I saw that a recent patch does in fact now reward you with the kill if the player ups and leaves during the animation/after?
The (PS4) lobby woes work out in your favour and you're dropped into a match that's just two people.
Sometimes you're Jason, sometimes you're the counselor. Sometimes, especially if you were silent in the lobby to begin with, you'll finally meet up in the woods and your opponent will be either:
a) happy to see you and be all chatty, and you can frolic about and tour the camp with your new buddy
b) HARDCORE AND WANTING TO THROW DOWN
the b types - especially if I am Jason, are really quite crafty and some of the best matches I've had were one-on-one's.
One had lead me around the map playing loud music through their mic the whole time, dodging my knives and barricading a house with less than five minutes to go.
They hadn't counted on a bear trap I had placed by one of the broken windows when I finally started working on breaking down the front door though. Jason needs his stealthy Stalk and Shift strategy more clearly outlined, you can't really use them effectively by themselves.

Yea this game seems odd now, counselors are ganging up on Jason all the time it feels like. If you work as a group, Jason is screwed , people dont seem afraid anymore of him and straight up charge him
I quite like that though, it's very frantic for the counselors as one mistake and Jason's got them, and it becomes a domino of almost everyone getting killed if one goes down. I only really see the counselors try and stand and fight when Jason spawns at the car that's about to be repaired, or when he arrives whilst you're waiting for a police exit.
I have however seen Chads shoot Jason with flares / shotguns when Jason wasn't even aware of them. Then they usually shout some abuse and run away.
It just seems Jason's is much less dangerous now, and it really kills the feel of the franchise when people simply want to taunt and hunt Jason for fun, people really have no fear and Jason has gotten much harder to play. The amount of survivors in each match seems to be getting really high. If a group sticks together they have a big advantage. The nerf to grab range really has killed Jason's effectiveness. The teleport grab was essentially to the slow Jason's and it's become much harder to land now.

Super easy with pubs, the sucky things atm are hosts quitting and Jason teamers (I personally see the former waaaay more than the latter) but in my experience if you're in a room that lasts the whole match they tend to stick together.

I still want a mode where you can convince one or more people to jump into a match and perform key roles just so I can show off the game's typical gameplay to others. It wouldn't even have to be for real XP/stats.
Like, it's a brilliant game to stream already, so to easily show it locally to people who are horror fans but know next to nothing about video games would be great.
