I really don't think it's reasonable to expect Funimation/Aniplex/Whoever else Vic has worked for to go back and basically scrub Vic's work from existence, especially when Vic isn't receiving an additional penny for any of it.
They're doing the right thing by re-casting any of his continuing/recurring roles in future works and committing to never working with him again.

Yeah but expecting a company to spend money it knows it won't make back on a series that has been done and gone for years and then being upset that they won't do it is not really a reasonable stance to take.
They can easily make it back through nostalgia. Going off Wikipedia, we're slowly creeping up on the OG show's 20th anniversary. Aniplex can lay low for now by not uploading it for sale or stream for now, letting the populous "forget" about the series for now. In that time, they can find a new actor to play Ed (or recast everyone if that's more feasible), re-record the dub, and sell it in 2023 as some type of "FMA 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition" with an updated dub. Old fans will buy it on impulse because it's yet another piece of FMA merchandise (with extra stuff I would presume), new fans can buy it in good conscious that Vic isn't getting any money out of it, and Aniplex sees money from all the DVD/BluRay/4k BluRay sales. Everybody wins!

It's terrible the kind of damage one arsehole can do to so many people. Good riddance. I wonder how long his terrible fanclub will last when he can't get any work.

They could re-buy the original dub in good conscious that Vic isn't getting any money out of it too.

Took way too long to comment but glad to see confirmation. Feel bad for their social media person dealing with his toxic fanbase.

Well the tweet does say that they took the decision after an Investigation, and Investigations take time since you've got to go back and forth, speak with people possibly multiple times, go back and forth between people/HR Departments/lawyers.

Though part of it will almost certainly have been wanting to wait for Broly to have finished its theatrical run.

It's going to be hell on Funimation's YouTube for a while
Heck, even before this announcement the comments were littered with people screaming at them for firing him.
I watched a clip of Luffy vs Katakuri they posted, and despite Vic having nothing to do with either of these characters, many of the comments were crying about him

That's the thing Vic wouldn't be making any money off the original dub either.

Are they any cons he hasn't been banned from yet? If there are any that also have some of Funi crew, its gonna get really awkward...

As far as I'm aware

Anime Matsuri is the only convention and the only voice actor besides him is Yusuke Urameshi's(Yu Yu Hakusho) Japanese voice actor.

Not sure about any other conventions(that aren't focused on Anime, maybe some small conventions)

From posts in this and the other thread it seems a standard part of Voice acting contracts. Actor is paid set fee at the time of recording and that's it. Any additional money comes from publicity work, convention appearances, etc, and there are no residual payments for anything like re-releases of DVD/Blu-Rays/Theatrical showings.

His career is over, all the other companies will follow suit.

Now hopefully the lawsuits are next.

Voice Actors get paid per gig and don't get royalties, they make money off convention appearences related to their roles, which he's been kicked off a lot. Could you answer my previous question?

Midgar, With Love
Mignogna will forever be known to me first and foremost for his live-action role in a Star Trek fan series that did fairly well for itself during the dark age of Trek before its recent revitalization.

Which is to say, I will never forget his face.

Which is to say, if I ever bump into him on the street I'll make sure he never forgets my left hook.

Bye, creep.

I don't think a lot of people would buy something put out by Aniplex. Their prices are obscene.

I don't really feel great about Funimation as a whole after this. They must of known about this for years with it being an open secret and decided not to do anything until it got too big to ignore. This goes for most of the other dubbing companies also, because Vic worked with a lot of them. Still, I'm glad he's finally gone.

I just hope extra protection is being put towards Monica and the other female VAs. They're undoubtedly going to suffer a lot of blowback from horrible people for the next week or two.

This too
The FMA Brotherhood Blu-Ray their offering is 30 episodes for $100. Then another $100 for the remaining 34. I don't think so...

Sad thing is, that's a ripoff, but still generous by their standards. Anybody that wants Kill La Kill better be ready to fork over $40-50 for every 4-5 episodes. Or $200 for the first half of Unlimited Bladeworks, a 24 episode series.

For people wondering about redubbing, Funi does redubbing with DB all the time, so it's not out of the question that they might redub Broly's lines for the home release.
Toei recently released remasters of all the old movies, so when Funi inevitably releases those over here they might redo Broly's lines in those.

What a massive shame. I was really impressed with Star Trek Continues. And even back then I was reading bad things about him.

Time to hang that up I guess.
