Oh lol. Of course. This probably just means Alyx coming to PSVR
Tbf the move dlc was really good. abit short tho.Is it going to only be for Half Life Alyx psvr like that weird Portal 2 deal back in the day
This way.Did anyone transcribe this. Hard to hear precisely what he is saying.
Valve games releasing on console would be great, but Steam on consoles would be a game changer, and I'm not sure how that would even work.
How so if you can play any Steam game on an Xbox with that service?Steam games on the cloud is cool, but it's not Steam games on consoles.
Probably what is going to happen. After the Discord thing, looks like Steam might go Microsoft.
Because you're playing it on the cloud...How so if you can play any Steam game on an Xbox with that service?

It seems unlikely given how few PS5s are in the wild and how the PSVR2 is still a way offI'm not going to say Alyx will never come to console, but I don't have a clue why it would be announced this year.
This.. hell even half life alyx was announced close to Valve Index's Release..PSVR2 ain't coming until late in 2022 so announcing alyx for it this year doesn't make sense..I'm not going to say Alyx will never come to console, but I don't have a clue why it would be announced this year.
Why are Youtube, Netflix, HBO, DIsney+, Prime Video, etc apps on consoles if vast majority of TVs already have apps for that?Because you're playing it on the cloud...
What would you even need an Xbox for? Vast majority of TVs are web enabled these days.
They were working on a real PC "console", akin to a properly done Steam Machine. too bad it never saw the light of day :/

Yah they might've pivoted. The "new" Steam machines were pretty far along, though. The plan was to sell them alongside the Index and Alyx, and make the cost palatable with installment plans similar to phones, available via Steam. Shame it never got out the door.No idea what they're working on, but some kind of cheap device that lets you play Steam games via the cloud might be feasible.

Different from this? 👀Yah they might've pivoted. The "new" Steam machines were pretty far along, though. The plan was to sell them alongside the Index and Alyx, and make the cost palatable with installment plans similar to phones, available via Steam. Shame it never got out the door.

Imo, cloud gaming isn't quite ready yet with the level of streaming latency involved. I think they could make a somewhat subsidised machine if they wanted to though. Is there anything stopping them from getting deals on chips like Sony and Microsoft?
Not Valve's style. Not since the announcement of HL2 Episode 3 anyway.

Seriously. I would've bought a Series X if I didn't already have a high-ish end PC but for the vast majority this is a no-brainer.Gamepass on Steam and Steam on Xbox would be the deal of the decade.
Whoa, we finally got the deets.Yah they might've pivoted. The "new" Steam machines were pretty far along, though. The plan was to sell them alongside the Index and Alyx, and make the cost palatable with installment plans similar to phones, available via Steam. Shame it never got out the door.
That looks vaguely similar to mocks I might've seen. It's also why Valve spun up an entire new hardware lab/production line in Factoria, WA. Maybe they're still coming, just taking longer than expected :)Different from this? 👀
AFAIK this Steam Machine case design has never been officially announced (from HL:A Final Hours Valve tour)
I've actually hinted at it multiple times here in the past. Whether this is still the plan or what Gabe is referring to.. we'll see

Could easily be supplier issues, esespecially if Valve was planning on getting AMD APUs similar to what the Playstation and Xbox have.
I remember your comments about hardware when HLA was announced but I definitely missed any further hints, if there were.I've actually hinted at it multiple times here in the past. Whether this is still the plan or what Gabe is referring to.. we'll see
