I shouldn't be surprised that the media is fawning over Anthem, apparently learning nothing from the other games in this faux-MMO genre, yet here we are. I guess their irrational love for Bioware overcomes everything.

Anyway out of that list I'd go with Spiderman best of show with RE2 a close 2nd. I was really surprised at how good it looks in motion, it's like if RE2 was actually scary because of its content and not because you're stuck with the worst control scheme and camera possible.

Dreams not nominated for the VR award?

At least Tetris Effect was taken into account.

I just find it weird how everyone is acknowleding that the presscon showing was shit but also insisting what they saw was soo much better even when it wasnt really different.

Odd to see so much Anthem. The reaction seemed pretty tepid. No opinions on it myself though, my game of show would probably go to TLOU2.

It's not that they just saw it, it's that they actually played it. Everyone who has gotten hands on with it has been saying it plays great.

Everyone who played it said the traversal and combat are really fun. Of course, there is still a whole lot we need to see, but the demo was apparently received very well.

I think Spidey or Anthem will win.

But it'd be funny to see Smash win and make that Nintendo's third in a row, I'm kind of surprised that's nominated at all

Lol, game critics doing what they do best with those Anthem nods. I'm sure that when you have three drinks in you and you're playing in a trade show you might have a good time, Evolve was the same, but it looks uninspired as hell.

I have a weird feeling Anthem is gonna win Best in Show. I think RE2 Remake is more deserving, but with how Anthem is nominated everywhere I think that wins, unfortunately.

They're really buying into the pre-release PR again and I'm sure this time it won't backfire on them. Between the two destinies and the division...maybe 4th time's the charm!

But no really the press loves Bioware. Them and Bethesda probably have the most overall goty winners in the last 15 years.

I agree the demo doesn't look impressive but everyone that actually played it, all the impressions I've heard, are super positive on how it actually "plays". So maybe, reserve judgement till you get your hands on it?

We have gameplay footage and people reporting on it in depth. We know how it plays.

Nioh 2 (PlayStation)? Is it confirmed as exclusive or they are simply saying this because of the lack of info?

IIRC Koei Tecmo refused to clarify beyond that, but the list incorrectly states Gears Tactics as being for Xbox, so I don't think this is an official clarification.

Evolve had a very well built demo and lots of staffing per demo wired into your headset to talk you thru the demo. It was a ton of fun, esp if you played with people you knew at the show

This is the most "I can't tell who the clear winner is" list for best of show I've seen.

Hoping for Remake 2 to win, but it just feels weird saying "yeah this remake is a best of show game"

Yeah, and then there were Mario and Zelda, those turned out to be total bombs. I wish Game Critics would learn :(

huh? where were you when they blasted andromeda just a year ago?

Anthem looks like a lot of fun. Flying is something we just dont see in the game. Aside from Rage, it looked like the most FUN to play game at E3. And we have all played Destiny and know how much fun it can be. Anthem looks to be taking it to the next level.
