You actually can use the Microsoft Store, if you want to. I think it uses the game back end.
Oh sweet, I guess the list I looked at was incomplete. Would be a much better deal for me if I didn't own so many of these games from Humble, but I'm definitely in for at least 1 month for Metro and perhaps Horizon 4.

Figured it out.
I subscribed to Xbox Game Pass (no PC) literally a few hours ago, seemingly lost out on the Xbox Game Pass PC introductory price, but was able to upgrade the sub to Ultimate for $1, so I managed to get into the PC bucket without paying for a full sub.

I paid more than a $1 as well, I'm assuming it's only that cheap for people who have XBL Gold, XB Gamepass and now this. I don't have XBL Gold.

IIRC it appears to pause for a while when it allocates space--it's not actually frozen. Something similar happened to me when I downloaded it at launch.
Void Bastards is definitely there though. However it doesn't show on the list on the app, but it will allow you to install it if you manually search for it.
I have none of those things. I don't have an XBOX. I see both GamePass for PC and GamePass Ultimate for $1 on the Windows store.
