This looks incredible.

God, what I will give to have RE5 remade like this.

Ibis Island
- Originally didn't want to do the remake
- Didn't want to start from scratch but rather dial things to 11
- Replayability and Flexibility on how you play were key pillars in development
- No QTES
- You can carry multiple knives (Game can also be beat with Knives Only)
- Laser Sight is an Upgrade, Yellow Herbs are in the game
- Ground Executions can prevent Plagas from forming
- R3 is used to command Ashley (She can follow closely or fall back but will not remain in one place)
- There are no dumpsters for Ashley to hide in this time
- Ashley does not have a health bar, but if she's damaged too much she will need to be revived. She'll die if attacked again in this state
- New Weapon "Bolt Thrower" has been added (Crossbow)
- New Enemy that wields a hammer and wears a bull mask
- More new enemies are also teased by Capcom
- There are sidequests in the game (can be numerous things to do such as fetch quests, puzzles, and more)
- Attache Cases can have perks now such as increasing ammo drops
- You can barricade during the house section like in RE2make
- The game blends Horror and Action very well

Gameinformer was hella impressed and wanted to play more after their time was up.
Saying that thus far, Capcom is nailing its goal here.

Add me to the "the rain looks abysmal" group. Dear lord. Everything else looks fine tho.

- There are no dumpsters for Ashley to hide in this time
- Ashley does not have a health bar, but if she's damaged too much she will need to be revived. She'll die if attacked again in this state

Not sure I like the sound of this. Sounds potentially annoying.

Little concerned about side quests, hopefully they're smoothly integrated like the Dead Space remake so that they don't mess with the flow of the game too much.

COW MAN! I'm ready to experience all new stuff.
So far everything looks great except the rain. Can be just the video but when they move the camera is a mess.

The sidequests I'm a little iffy on, but I'll wait and see, I suppose. How did the Dead Space remake handle them?

That said, ratcheting everything up to 11 instead of going back to the drawing board tells me that they at least know what they're doing here.

That rain is RDR2 levels of bad. almost distracting from the action

Capcom, you really shouldn't have borrowed the rain tech from Rockstar's remastering team.

I'm so glad Nicole Thompkins is a returning RE actor (she was Jill in RE3, one of the villagers in RE8, and Ashley in this). She's great. I hope it's an indication that they'll bring back Jill.
I don't like that, actually. There's enough voice talent that need roles that they don't need to have the same actor voicing multiple major characters in the same series. Knowing Capcom's history with voice talent this sounds like a cost situation.

It's RE Engine tradition, I know, but I can't wait to disable that CA immediately and never look back. It's like borderline anaglyph 3D here.

Ashley having more commands than just telling her to sit in a dumpster feels like it's trying to solve a problem that the original game already fixed.

To all the people saying back in the day that RE4 didn't need a remake, are you going to plays this?

Ashley not having a health bar sucks. The whole point of the game is protecting her! Getting rid of the tension between fighting Ganados and making sure she didn't die was a unique aspect of RE4 smh.

The preview was saying the tension of protecting her is still fully there. I wouldn't worry too much lol.
