For me it was God Of War 2. The scale, set pieces, general epicness. I still can't believe that game was made on PS2
I was losing my mind during the final boss battle. Absolutely insane.Since everyone's talking about GOW...
The latest GoW did that for me. I still can't understand how so many extremely well detailed models can be in-screen without my PS4 exploding.
God Of War 3 when you pull that guy's nail off. The scale of that fight was something else.
Watching all those MGSV trailers, i said multiple times it's just not possible how good that game looks, there's no way it'll deliver
and i was right :(
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the arcades.
Yo we cartoons now.
Mario 64 for me, I saw it on Gamesmaster or similar in England.
I'd only had an Amiga before and I couldn't comprehend how Mario could do so many moves, how it was possible for the player to have control over it all.
I wasn't disappointed when I got an n64 and Mario!
Metal Gear Solid 2 will always be the game I think of when asked questions like this one. It was so far beyond anything else, visually, mechanically and aurally, that it quite literally ruined other games for me for a good six months.
Yep! The game that made me realize this is next gen.Everyone saying GOW, but my "this isn't possible" moment was watching Gears 1 the first time. I couldn't believe a game could look like that:
