Reviving this great thread for the new era: Have you ever thought of a game but don't remember the title? Maybe it was a game from your childhood, or something that interested you when it was announced but you forgot about it? Describe these games as best as you can and let's see if we can help each other out.

I'm trying to pin down the name of this DOS DOOM-clone from '93 to '95. You ran around these corridors shooting/blowing up tank-like robots. The graphics were made up of mostly pink and green colors. I remember, as a child, being captivated by it and drawing these tank baddies on paper. I would *love* to know the name!

Actually... friends and I rented this game back in the 90s. I think it was on PlayStation 1, and had a bright yellow cover. I feel like there may have been a grenade or a biohazard symbol on the front? All I remember is that none of us could figure out how to actually play it.

A bit of a shot in the dark, but the colour scheme made me think of Alpha Storm:

Only half of Alpha Storm is an FPS, however.

Edit: Colour scheme's wrong, but I recall The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki having some distinctive robot designs:

This isn't really what you described but for some reason I'm thinking it might be Blast Chamber?

Trying this again:

There was this Casino game for Windows 95/98, that had 3D exploration in an engine similar to DOOM's. So, you could walk around this 3D casino, and play on a lot of games (you could even gamble online!). I remember there was this parking lot area at the edge of the map, too.

Hm, not quite. The tank robots were pretty abstract from what I remember.

I posted this in the old site, but I vaguely remember seeing a game trailer in the 2000's, it's an FPS game with destructible environments which was mind-blowing for me at the time. Well... after a bit of research, I finally found it:

I remember this arcade basketball game, it was 2 vs 2 and they had special skills kinda like street hoop. The last team was a pair of aliens lol.

I don't remember much about this one it was on PC early 2000s RTS and instead of controlling a single unit you controlled and bunch of guys in one unit and it had a Roman empire theme.

Arcade game that was top down and like Indiana Jones but wasn't Indiana Jones.
My first thought was Growl, but that's not top-down. How was it like Indy?
Edit: Also a possibility: Tutankham. No, that's not a typo, they really do just not finish the word.

I was going to say "It sounds like "Rome: Total War", but that wasn't really early 2000s", but then I looked it up, and... 2004. So 1: That was further ago than I thought, and 2: It could be Rome: Total War.

There was this racing game for the Playstation 1 with people wearing colorful suits and running really fast. I've always wanted to remember the name.

Alright, here's one:

It was a First Person Shooter on PC from the mid 90s. Kind of a Doom/Quake knockoff, but much more kid friendly. Very bright and colorful. I believe parts of it took place outside with parking locks/brick walls/bushes... Honestly it might've been one of those shitty games that comes free in a cereal box. Anyone have any clue?

Four player arcade game similar to Commando/Mercs/Ikari Warriors. Pretty good sprite graphics, you move upwards often or always. When a player is very injured he can lean on another player.

I'll give this a try.

I remember my cousins playing this old dos game that i believe was a platformer / maybe action with a lot of vibrant colors.

I know it's not a very descriptive hint, but I was very young.

Sounds like H.U.R.L. aka Slob Zone 3D. LGR did a video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWTxS8I6jnI

Maybe the Commander Keen series or the old Duke Nukem platformers?

The main character had Indy's outfit. I think there was a woman as a second player as well.

It might possibly be Konami's Dark Adventure, then:
kdvwerc.jpg

There's two versions: Dark Adventure is three-player (with the woman, the indy-clone shown here, and a third character, also in this screenshot). The Japanese version is Devil World, which strips out the third player; it's concievable that's what you played instead if you only recall the two of them.

There are other significant differences between the two (Dark Adventure gives players melee default weapons; Devil World goes straight to ranged, for instance), so I can't be too sure which you played. Check the Wikipedia page I linked for a breakdown of the major ones

It was definitely Dark Adventure since it was in a local Little Caesar's arcade.

Glad to see this topic here as well, looking forward to finding those elusive old gems. I've been wondering if it would be useful to come up with a small form, like a template of the most important information the people requesting the games should fill in, since it could potentially speed things up and help out more people, but then again it might break the flow and shy away some folks from posting since stuff like that can feel like a bit of a chore. Not really saying people would have to post in a specific format, just have it as a guideline. But then again, most people don't fully read the OP of a topic, so it also might be obsolete. I'm maybe kinda overthinking it, since this kinds of topics have always worked reasonably well, just thinking about how to make things a bit easier for everyone.

BTW, this post editor on the forum has some real neat features, I just copied the name of a game from Mobygames and it automatically copied the url tied to that text, making things much faster. Advanced posting hides the rest of the topic though, so it's not ideal but that's fine.

CyClones
Lunicus
Renegade Robot Retaliation
Wrath of Earth

Hoyle Blackjack apparently has a card flipping minigame that at least looks first person, but I can't find a better screenshot or video of the game to know more.

Maybe Run and Dunk, Hard Dunk, Punk Shot, Dataeast's Hoops.

A bunch of Roman-themed strategy games:
The Great Battles of Hannibal
The Great Battles of Caesar
Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome
Caesar III
Celtic Kings: Rage of War
Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest
Legion
Against Rome
Praetorians
Nemesis of the Roman Empire
Imperivm III: The Great Battles of Rome

I have a very strange game that I've been looking for for so long, I'm starting to think I dreamed it.

It was a long, long time ago, and I didn't get to see it for very long because I had to leave the babysitter, but it was a NES game, that looked like a Mario rom-hack. I remember the main character being a butcher of some sort? And there was a giant hamburger he was jumping on, or something? Every time I look for it all I can seem to find is "Burger Time", which I keep thinking might have been it? But I distinctly remember a blue background, because I thought it was Mario at first, until the character was a chef guy and there was a giant hamburger on screen. It honestly might have been a dream, but this has been bugging me for around 25 years..

Could it be Panic Restaurant?

Ty man but none of those is the one I'm looking for ;__;

Capcom Sports Club might also be the game, but don't think it has aliens in it.

Since you mentioned it's similar to Street Hoop, I'm also assuming it's 2D. When did you play it, mid 90's? A narrower time span could help. There's a surprisingly small amount of arcade basketball games emulated in MAME (which is where I've been looking in), and it might be an unemulated game, but could it actually be a console game?

YES! Oh gosh thank you so much, that has been driving me crazy for so many years! I remember it seeming kinda creepy and weird, that's why I remember it after all these years, I seriously was starting to doubt my sanity, this is such a relief <3

Sounds like Pickle Wars

Incredible Crisis must be the most common game for people to ask about in here, haha
Based on the old place as well, I'd say Skyroads or Incoming are two of the most likely candidates, they cropped up multiple times.

I did keep meaning to put together a database of commonly-forgotten games.

Between 1993-1999 and it was arcade, 2 vs 2 and had teams by country like Korea and Brazil.

A 2D art indie game for PC where you play as Death or a skeleton or something, with gameplay heavily inspired by Paper Mario. Last I heard it had not yet released. Please tell me I didn't just imagine this, lol.

I can't remember the name of a PS2 game where you'd draw creatures with a paintbrush and use them to battle. Doodle something? Any help would be cool.
