Why did I think that CD Projekt Red were going to be at Gamescom and that we were finally going to see the E3 2019 demo shown to the press? Or is that another upcoming event that it's being showcased at?
Cyberpunk 2077 is actually at gamescom though they're going to show off the same demo at E3 behind closed doors again.

The event you're thinking of is PAX West which is Aug 30 - Sep 2. CDPR promised that they'll upload the E3 2019 private demo online 'round then just like last year.

Kinda weird that they'd be showing the same gameplay demo behind closed doors when I imagine most of the press would have already seen it at E3. Thanks for the clarification

Still strapping myself in for Shenmue, Death Stranding and that Elden Ring gameplay demo (hopefully)

Last year, they made the E3 demo public on YouTube on 27 August, which was one day before they published their financial earnings for shareholders. CD Projekt is a public company, so that kind of planning matters a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if they do that again this year. Their next earnings report will be published on 29 August, so maybe they'll put it on YouTube that day or the day before that.

Geoff suddenly popping on Elden Ring thread gives me hope we'll see gameplay.

Oh yeah, and we finally need to know wtf is Death Stranding, how far they have went with survival mechanics etc. Gameplay demo please, no more glorious cutscenes.

Remember they said they'll make the demo public both at PAX West and online and considering PAX starts on the 29th, that sounds like the perfect day to release it especially with what you said about the earnings report.

Sega's thing is a mystery and therefore the most compelling thing by law.
Death Stranding has had a good mystery run, but at this point that thing just needs to come out.

I'd be happy with Death Stranding and Elden Ring gameplay trailers and a new Batman game announcement

Is announcing a year old PS3/360 game coming to next gen the same as them announcing a completely new game (GTA IV @ E3 2006)? I know I might seem like I'm moving the goalposts a bit but as they demonstrated with RDR2, Rockstar will tease a game announcement on their socials, build hype and release a trailer that same week instead of playing the conference rigmarole. They attract a far larger audience doing this too as they decide when and how they'll reveal the game instead of having the trailer swamped in a press conference filled to the brim with other ones. If Bully 2 were ever to be announced, they'd follow this same exact procedure instead of wasting their time with gamescom.

I'm probably the only one but I want to see more of Need for Speed.

It will be interesting to see what Epic has up their sleeves.

Excited for the show, considering it's Europe I am hoping they show some mid-tier and PC gaming love; with THQ Nordic on the list it got me thinking about Piranha Bytes:

Gothic
  • 2001: GOTHIC
  • 2002: GOTHIC II
  • 2003: GOTHIC - The Night of the Raven
  • 2006: GOTHIC 3
Risen:
  • 2009: Risen
  • 2012: Risen 2
  • 2014: Risen 3: Titan Lords
ELEX (released October 17th 2017).

Piranha Bytes with a reveal (ELEX 2 possibly) and a release date for 2020? It would line up with a roughly three year dev cycle looking at their release history.

Excited for:
-Any Sony showings
-Elden Ring
-Sega's Hmkd, whatever it is
-Biomutant release date
-Unannounced THQ game (is it Piranha Bytes?)
-Need for Speed Heat gameplay

Don't wanna see anymore Death Stranding, gonna go straight to the game at this point.

Also I heard it was suppose to be unveiled later this year, not this month. If any of the smoke recently actually lead to a fire.

If Bully 2 is real (I'm inclined to believe it is considering major Rockstar leakers have come out and stated it's their next game), it'll get announced in October with a teaser image and a subsequent trailer a few days later.

The running rumor right now is that Rockstar are actually gearing up for this. If you look at their Twitter page, they removed the RDR2 avatar they usually use and replaced with the classic yellow R*. They did this back in 2016 and announced RDR2 2 months later so who knows?

I'm not seeing much of interest to me in the list but maybe Square will surprise me. Or Nintendo if they say anything. <3

Whatever the fuck happened to that Biomutant game?
It's still coming, and very soon. Just need release date:

Meanwhile in the physical space the RDR2 promo image on Rockstar's offices is coming down...

I know they will do as they please with the marketing, but Bully 2 isn't a game with a large target audience.

That's what people said about RDR yet RDR2 is the best selling game of the past 12 months

Rockstar clout will drive a potential sequel to 10 million minimum. "GTA in School" is enough to push people to pick these games up just like "GTA with Horses" did.

Well it allows them to show it for the press and outlets that didn't make it to E3/appointments as well as obviously for the public closer to Gamescom than say L.A. They did the exact same thing last year actually.

Anyways I'm excited for Death Stranding mostly I'd say. PlayStation Blog was already hyping it up today and I'd love to see just one more trailer that's more gameplay detailed over a character or any story beats.

Otherwise I'm excited for whatever the special announcement is for Modern Warfare and seeing gameplay for Predator. Hopefully Elden Ring makes a surprise showing.
