I've been expecting an announce, partially because I think they could use a final push for their launches in September and the rest of the holiday season, and partially because I think they'll want to hype up Year 2 of NSO with a SNES and controller announcement. Though I did figure all of those could be handled in one-off tweets.

UE4 is pretty scalable. There are lots of levers SE can adjust. There doesn't seem to be anything about KHIII that would it impossible to run well on Switch.
With 2.5, wasn't there some Sony-proprietary thing they used for the PSP port? Or did they change that with the PS4 version? I remember speculation as to that being the reason 1.5/2.5 never came to Xbox One, even though KHIII did.

Indeed, this definitely looks new. Noticeably, he also has his Pixar hair here too, something only the Odyssey renders have (though all besides one had Cappy in them).

I've been wrong before, but I don't think it'll be before PAX West. It'll be before TGS, though, like usual.
I feel like if they wanted to get out in front of PAX West, they'd also just have tried to get out in front of Gamescom.
It seems the smart money is on September 5.

You know I'm actually not really a fan of SMRPG. I don't think Nintendo would care to make a deal to bring it back. They have Mario and Luigi, Paper Mario and Mario + Rabbids.

TTYD doesn't need a remaster imo. Just make a new Paper Mario that uses a similar combat system and has similarly quality writing
Right. Neither need to be remastered. We just need Paper Mario to go back to its roots and everyone should be optimistic that it will happen with this next game.

Now we're talking! People have been wanting Itoi to do another game with Nintendo for ages, so they might as well give the fans what they want.

Something Mario 3D is likely imo. All of Nintendo's main series have their first Switch game outside of Animal Crossing, which again we know is Spring 2020.
They've only gotten better which is a good thing. This Direct will be great too.
I would say all their recent bigger Directs have been great. The last one that wasn't great to amazing was E3 2018.

I think we see a 3D Mario port (3D World?) and maybe something like Pikmin 4 and WarioWare for new games. Announced game updates for Bayonetta 3, No More Heroes 3, SMTV, Town, Animal Crossing, and whatever they want for Pokémon and the rest of the fall games.
