1/3rd of the big 3 drops out of E3, 3/4ths of the site now has no interest in E3!it's almost like it underwent changes and valued attendees dropped out or something, wild
no idea. Have they registered?
Weird comment, but just Jeff being a smartass as usual. It's very obvious what people mean when they say that unless you're being obtuse.
E3 is a trade event.Man stops supporting a business that directly competes with his own company. I'm shocked, shocked I say!
E3 is just a relic from the 90's, when internet speeds were slow and the only way to get gaming news was buying Game Informer, PC Gaming, etc. I think nowadays companies can do there own thing ala Direct with streaming services. I loved and hated E3 at the same time. Just goes to show you how far we've come.
I think this will be the norm in the very near future. Publishers/devs will ride others hype and excitement while the skillet is hot and it'll be a natural thing to do. It should be much less stressful on the dev teams as well; no set e3 vertical slice deadlines should be a blessing. Announce when you're ready, announce when it's still hot if you're ready. Can we all just agree to cancel E3, and every large company agrees to just host an online/their own presentation of all their new stuff around the same time period? Save everyone the time and money, but still get all the fun news and excitement.
Put them out digitally.
that would be a disaster
I'm not saying drop the e3 demos digitally, I'm saying put out more demos aside the direct style events. Reveal games closer to release. Its where we're headed.
Probably some alt-right YouTube gamers being invited as celebrity guests
Why so many ppl on this forum suddenly want E3 to die? And call it dead??
How is it good for gaming or anyone? This doesn't make any sense at all. Are some of you hating for no reason? I don't get it really.
What are you even talking about?1/3rd of the big 3 drops out of E3, 3/4ths of the site now has no interest in E3!
And he got shit for that.Didn't Jeff do that himself not too long ago. Boogie and others.
Sometimes I don't speak right, but yet I know what I'm talking about!
That's what gamers care about, the games but all the hype is what gaming is aboutDon't know what is the drama. Don't care about geof being there or not, as long as games are there, shame about losing Sony though.
Microsoft and Nintendo will still be there. 67%Also, I'm not booking that week off work for the first time in years; E3 truly is dead.
To be fair most people only watch the game awards for reveals or the game coverage. That's also what has most people excited about e3. So in that respect they do compete and I'm sure Geoff would rather have big announcements on the game awards rather than at e3.
The show returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 9-11, with an industry day on June 9, followed by two days open to all badge holders.

Several leading video game companies have already committed to participating in E3 2020, including Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Bethesda Softworks, SEGA, Capcom, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive Software, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc., and Warner Bros. Games, among others.
Everyone talking about how E3 is cancelled, all I know is...as long as Giant Bomb still does their E3 shit every year I'm still excited for it, it's have the reason I watch E3 stuff anymore.
