Not sure where to post this, so here we go. If someone can point me to the right thread, thanks and greatly appreciated.

I often get fullscreen ads on ResetEra with the following link URL. It's been like this for a few weeks now.

I broke the URL, so it doesn't auto-create links when posting. You can see in the URL, there is a query parameter that mentioned www.resetera.com and it has some IDs associated with the site.

That might have been generated because I'm browsing the forum. Anyhow, I get these fullscreen ads, and it's annoying when viewing threads.

Can someone take a look at this and fix the issue? Thanks.

If it has to do with my phone, what can I do to fix this?

Yeah it's trash. Worst part about using this website. Mobile is a minefield of who know what kind of malicious garbage.

I also kept getting these like a month ago, they would pop up and when I'd close them they'd pop up again every 30 seconds-a minute.
It stopped happening to me so I forgot about it tbh.

I got one a few days ago that redirected me with a phishing pop-up, but I closed out of it too fast and didn't remember to screenshot it or anything to submit it to staff.

Download 'Block This!' if you are on Android. Can't recommend it enough. It's not on the Playstore but can be downloaded from their website. No jailbreak or whatever needed. It blocks ads in all of your apps, not just the browser. Huge upgrade for any phone in terms of speed, security and data saving.

I will not be bothered by the 'morale' behind blocking a major revenue stream of a website I like as long as I keep reading legit complaints like yours. I will definitely not pay money for getting rid of intrusive ads either.

It's pretty much always an ad injection attack. I don't understand why ResetEra seems to be so much more vulnerable to these than literally any other mobile site I use regularly.

(To be fair to Era, I use it much more than most other mobile sites, so the chances that I happen to see an attack in progress are higher. Still frustrating, though.)

Yeah you hate to do it but I can't browse this site without a blocker (on mobile, on desktop I'm fine)
There is nothing worse than popping on here and seeing a full page "you won free Amazon prize!!!"

It sometimes is the worst. Some days I don't get shit. Other days I always get redirected to other sites because there is a full site ad on here which is invisible. Even on different phones.

Era is literally the only website I've ever visited that has this problem. Don't understand it at all. Whatever ad network they use is bad.

Everyone gets the redirects and I'm sure moderation and administration are aware. They just seem to be doing nothing about it or whatever is being done is so far ineffectual.

Co-signed. You have malicious ads effectively redirecting traffic away from your site. Fix this shit. It wouldn't have been acceptable 15 years ago, it sure as hell isn't now.

No other forum site that has ads I use has once done a redirect to me.

ResetEra does it at least once every 3-4 days, and when it happens I get like 30 in a row.

What the hell kind of sketchy fly by night ad provider are they using?

It makes me nervous that I'm going to get some shitty Android virus every time it happens.

Likely they're using a sketchier provider but they get paid more per view. It's capitalism at its finest.

Agreed. I don't typically block ads on Era, but in exchange I expect that there will be a good faith effort on the part of the site to keep this type of crap from happening. On mobile I've seen a lot of redirects over the last few months on Era and only Era.

Happens every now and then making the site unusable for me on mobile. Also have no way of reporting since it kind of hijacks your browser until you kill the tab or close it.

Thanks for bringing this to attention, I was going to make a thread about it too. It sucks, I've had to reinstall Chrome pretty much every time I went on here. About to stop using Resetera for a while if it doesn't get fixed soon.

This is happening to me all the time but I didn't know where to talk about it. This needs to be fixed immediately otherwise I wouldn't blame people for trying to block ads because there are straight up redirects to phising sites. And it seems to be getting worse for me as well.
