https://www.gamesindustry.biz/artic...t-usd15-million-in-fortnites-rollout-in-china

At a press conference yesterday, Tencent officially launched Fortnite in China, and said it will back Epic's game with ¥100 million ($15.8 million).

According to Do News, which attended the press conference, half of that ¥100 million will be used to create content for the game and support video content creators. The other half will be used to push it as an esport.

...Epic's game - which Tencent said now has 45 million users.

Tencent owns 40% of Epic Games, since it raised its stake in the company back in March 2013. Notably, it is also the Chinese publisher for Fortnite's biggest rival in the battle royale genre, PlayerUknown's Battlegrounds.

Germany
Four GIANT tentpoles. League, Valor, PUBG, Fortnite.
League and Valor at the very top of their markets. League's revenue in 2017 was 2.1b. Valor's was 1.9b.

on top of that they have partial ownership over Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft, as well as a majority ownership over supercell.

It wouldnt be far fetched to say that those guys are literally swimming in money right now

Isn't this in part thanks to protectionist Chinese policy wrt to foreign products i.e. those publishers have to have a Chinese partner to launch in China?

Gaming's just the tip of the iceberg. Tencent proper is up there with the biggest megacorps of the world.

Is Tencent going to be the biggest gaming company on the planet?

Revenue:
Microsoft: 89 billion
Sony: 60 billion
Tencent: 37 billion
Nintendo 4,5 billion

Tencent isn't a gaming company, and neither is Microsoft or Sony really.

So no.

These numbers are so unfair. Only Nintendo from those you mentioned, have gaming as it's core-business.
