Someone else helped me with this. Delete all cookies relating to giantbomb.com. I had to log back in again, obviously, but it was fine.
I guess it's aimed at millennials with N64 nostalgia, and people who aren't sick of Dan's shtick.
No idea. Never had a site break so much that I was getting nothing but 400 errors until I deleted all my cookies.
The game is not only not good, but unexciting to watch until they beat their heads against certain challenges over and over. I'm of the mind that they should institute a rule that once they enter a challenge room or minigame they cannot leave until they beat it, so we get torturous half-hour marathons of the crew passing around the controller and struggling while hating themselves and the game.
Hell, the more stupid rules the better. Keep that wheel spinning forever.
I really feel like it's made for the octogenarian and boomer crowd you know people who really hate themselves and their children but lack of proper emotional support when they were younger has left them unable to reconcile that with what they think is the correct way to operate in a nuclear family in the US.
Basically you should watch this if you want to experience the pain of knowing your wife hates to look at you and your children put you in a home when you get older.
I hope they start using a walkthrough very quickly. The wandering around definitely is boring.

I was really excited for 4K but then it sounds like only one or two episodes will be in 4K? Which is a bit of a bummer... but I guess it means there'll be a fully 4K set down the line

a 400 error is for "bad request"; could be it was checking something in your cookies that wasn't accurate anymore or had been corrupted/saved in a way that couldn't be used correctly, etc.
