I could see it. I personally enjoyed TLOU2 more than anything else I've played this year, but FFVII remake got me to give a shit about Final Fantasy for the first time ever.

Will just drop in and say Cook, Serve, Delicious 3 is in a master class of keyboard based games and I’ve never had a dull moment with it. But I totally expect that game to get completely shunned for GB GOTY deliberations. Dan would probably bring it up if he was still at GB. Bugsnax is gonna be the food game everyone will talk about.

The first world of Paper Mario Origami King
Reaching the final area in Hades
Getting about halfway trough Streets of Rage 4 on normal
Unlocking the three free characters and playing exactly two side quests in Genshin Impact
The first episode of Kentucky Route Zero (if that counts)
The first few tutorial puzzles and some dialouge in Murder by Numbers
One bot match (that I won) and and one proper match (wich I immediately lost) of Spellbreak
The switch version of Dr Kawashima's Brain Training
And for what it's worth the demos for Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the new Hyrule Warriors game
I didn't even disslike any of those games I just fell into a granblu fantasy pit this summer that I'm just now starting to climb out of.
