GB isn't really about dev interviews etc. but it's in those and their E3 stuff that the fact that they've been doing this for a long time and that they are really good at it shines through.

Is anyone else having an issue in God of War where the labor to use tailsman won't increase? I have the
horn of heimdall
equipped and use it on enemies but the labor counter is stuck at 14?

Man, I feel like I understand Jeff less and less. Him and Jason had some odd complaints about God of War on the latest Bombcast. It's not just this game though. I feel like the more I get to know about their tastes in recent years, the more it seems like they have odd or questionable taste. Obviously games are subjective so I can't fault them for it, but I just find myself scratching my head at the games and things those two get excited for. Seems like they want games and media with intentional schlock and anything that tries to be earnest or serious in tone they dislike. Are these guys the ironic hipsters of video games media?

Jason is pretty straight forward. He likes Japanese style action games. Fighting games, character action, MH, etc.
Jeff has always had odd opinions. He has dismissed games now considered classics and he has loved games no one even remembers anymore. That's just who he is.

I keep forgetting to "buy" Dead Space 2 on my 360. It's a current Games with Gold title, but I can't download it on the X1X without linking a credit card to my MS account.

I wanted to hear what Jeff would have liked changed in Nex Machina. It's a bit hard for me on Experienced (I got stuck on a boss I couldn't beat), but other than that I thought it looked amazing and played great.

Ever since I watched the documentary 'David Wants to Fly' - and afterwards did some reading on my own - I'm very, very cautious about anything involving TM. It's not Wild Wild Country bad, but it seems pretty bad.

Yeah, Bianca and I definitely have our issues with it. The core of what they teach is just mantra-based meditation, which is a totally valid approach. What bothers me is that they're charging for it (and a LOT). They dress it up with a bunch of fancy stuff, from touting their celebrity involvement to claiming that only their own teachers are qualified to teach the method. It's also ridiculous that they claim to give you a super-special personalized mantra, when just about anything can work as a mantra. I went ahead and got trained in TM out of curiosity, but it's pretty basic meditation 101 stuff that reaches the same effect as mindfulness or other forms of meditation that you can easily learn about on your own.

Meditation is *great*. Charging tons of money to teach people a method that they can easily learn for free is pretty bullshit. We're definitely with The Beatles on this one.

It's the sketchy money involvement that seems to be the worst part of it. Persuading people to hand over a lot of money for - like you said - some made up specialised mantras is absurd. If you ever come across the docu David Wants to Fly you should give it a watch. It dives into some pretty awful stuff from the TM movement in Germany and India (as well as the DLF).

How awful must the lives of people be that think that everything is done to appease someone and not simply because it's the right/normal thing to do.

Can't really speak to Jason, but Jeff is really the last person I'd want discussing story beats of any kind in a game (or really any medium). I'm not the craziest fan of God of War but it was just really weird to hear him call the father son relationship cheesy.

Is there ever going to be real fast travel mechanic in God of War? The one so far feels really pointless
cause it just let'S me warp in one direction to the blue dude in the tempel
