It's pretty insufferable. There are battles worth fighting, but attacking people who are not themselves responsible for any wrongdoing is not having a positive impact on anything — quite the opposite. Go down the rabbit hole of guilt-by-the-smallest-association and everyone would be #cancelled.
But we all know most of this is because they made a negative Pokemon video, so they're held to different standards. Just like Arlo — another generally positive and friendly YouTuber — in the thread for his critical review of SwSh. Transparent as fuck.
It’s nice to see a couple doing gaming videos together. It feels like most youtubers exclude their partners (for various reasons) so this is a nice change of pace. It also helps that they make great content ofc!

They literally mentioned them once, I don't think there's enough to deduce what they think of these people, or anything at all really. They're in the same business, it's not unthinkable to mention one another at one point.

I think calling them that for shouting out is too much, but that doesn't mean it should be ignored either.
I don’t like PDP and it’s disappointing they like his videos, but at the same time I can still enjoy their content because I’m not a child who sees everything as 100% black and white

What's the cut off before they become trash? What are the rules? Let's just cancel everyone just to be safe. I'm gonna tape over my monitor to make sure I never see someone who might have referenced someone who ever said anything bad

Sometimes things are, though. They chose to shout out a white supremacist, nobody forced them to, they chose to do it of their own free will. People are in the right to call that bullshit out, and they should. Seems to me you're the child here, you don't know how the real world works where one mistake, no matter how small, can fuck with your career and peoples perception of you.

Did they know much about pewdiepie or are they just using all kinds of pop culture like with The Office clips? You can call it negligent but it sounds like you're implying they knew and still did it anyway which there doesn't seem to be any evidence for? Calling a poster a child who doesn't know how the "real world" works is so over the top condescending that im not sure what the intent is.
There's a difference with disagreeing with the fact that they shouted someone out (especially since I believe shouting him out was a meme in of itself at the time, so it was likely a joke) and directly calling them out as "shitheels".
Love how extreme Era gets about their content creators. Apparently you can only be fans of content creators until they make a slip up or mistake. Like apparently Contrapoints is now TruScum, Hbomberguy is an enabler, and GF Reviews are garbage for the most minimal of reasons.
I've just learned to tune out Era when it comes to the content I watch. No point in watching something and then having a bunch of posters reply to you on how you're watching a "problematic" creator or actor. I think I can decide what content creators I watch myself with my own judgement

A lot of people in chat didn't seem to know what ResetEra was and it was clear from Matt and Shelby's responses that they were aware of ResetEra but didn't really spend any time on here or know anything about the common politics of the members here. I was just giving general information. It probably didn't make a difference.

I'm not gonna go so far as to say it help Trump get elected, but I do feel its lead into this sense of fatigue regarding a lot of efforts to moralize certain things. Like I'm not gonna lie, after seeing so many hot takes about that how creator X is problematic or act, you get pretty desensitized to those things. Like if apparently 90% of the people you watch are apparently problematic, then what's another creator to add to the pile? You just end up not really caring that much beyond a mild "That's a shame/disappointing". It's only when something incredibly egregious comes up, like sexual assault/pedophilia/criminal activity, that a collective audience actually gives a crap.
I don't know exactly when it happened but this forum has become a shitty, negative place in every facet. I had to stop reading threads about games I liked because apparently every game is actually shit.
