Quick question, so I'm not entirely sure how Twitch works.

How do people find games to watch? Like that screenshot has GOW as #1, do people just click the cover and find a person to watch?

Because I streamed the game yesterday and really no one came in lol. Just wondering how I'd get my name out there.

200,000+ playing the game, you're at the bottom of the games list. I streamed fortnite all week and was very shocked that I even managed to have 5 people in my channel at one time even if it was very brief.

If you wanna get your name out there, it's a big ole grind

Have friends and family watch your stream. It's a great way to have your stream higher in the list.

As others have said, there are a handful of mega streamers making proper coin, a small group of popular streamers making enough to not do anything else, a few getting spending money (which considering the time commitment keeping your head above the crowd) and then vast, vast numbers of streamers playing out to zero to very low double figure viewer counts. Just click on Fortnite and start scrolling, in fact give up scrolling and spam space. Loads, and so many giving it that mega streamer template as far as personality goes.

Somebody should do a tracker of twitch popularity for AAA games.
Like God of War viewers at a certain point in the day and for how many days till say below Top25, or less than 1K. So we can compare the data later once other AAA games launches just for the lulz and checking games hype in the general audience.

Is there any easy way to do this (stat site / any Script) or can only be done with work! work!

Edit : Nevermind Found this pretty nifty site, calculates avg view per month for all games after Nov 2016.
Would be eager to see how March launch view nos of Farcry5 (18.7K Avg. Viewers from the first 5 days) vs God of War launch month (till now 11.7K Avg. Viewers from the first 2 Days).

In all sense, FC5 should win but lets see.

It's a very hard market to get in for sure, you'll need luck and consistency, also people need to like you as a host or something in those lines because you'll need to be talking, making jokes etc.

Thanks, everyone. And also how does Twitch know which game I'm playing? I'm streaming through elgato and OBS.

Watching the game on twitch is the only way I'll get to experience it. It seems good, but nowhere near good enough to buy a console over.

Those are great numbers but i expect it won't last too long in Top10, which is ok for a SP game and i am sure the sales for gow will be very good
Even the game made with streaming in mind (like SoT for example) is on 38 place, and here we have a game without online.

Still in top 20. Nearly 3 weeks after release. Not bad.
