Remember when this year had the opportunity to become GOAT'd?

Guess that'll be 2023 now...

Why would they submit it to the Korean ratings board and then delay it?

Has this happened before?

So that's the last of the 3 big ones.

Now who wants to bet what gets delayed out of 2023?

from 2021 to possibly 2023

💀

edit: 5 years for a sequel and they didn't have to redo significant gameplay from scratch 💀

Damn, if true that's a shame. It looked relatively close to completion last year with that trailer.

Yeah, can't really say I'm surprised. This never felt like a guaranteed 2022 release, and with the state of every other AAA release - the assumption is absolutely 'assume a delay' until further notice.

Games can be submitted for ratings at nearly any point in the development process. A game doesn't need to be content-complete to be rated, especially if you already know up front you're shooting for an M (or equivalent) rating.

Cakewalk of a GOTY for Elden Ring.

Covid has been brutal on this year. Next year is looking lit, though.

They can take their time with it - that game is going to be excellent

If the source is retailers they don't know shit (I used to work in head office for a UK retailer and we had no idea when things were coming out even the local publishing team).

Honestly 2022 always felt like a pipe dream but also in the last few months it really seemed like it might hit 2022.

Oh well, I'm always in favor of delaying a game (espeically one like this that millions of people are going to play through at launch and then never return too)

wouldn't be such a big shock, given the lack of well… anything.

2023 is looking absolutely fucking stacked now though

With they rumored Tlou Remake release I was expecting this outcome. What a disaster.

Once again, 2023 is looking stacked! BOTW 2, God of War Ragnarok, Starfield, Final Fantasy XVI, Alan Wake II, Spider-man 2, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, The Wolf Among Us 2....

I live in Spain. There has been discussion among some people at some 'important retailer' about this.. I heard mumblings around some What's App Groups that God of War has been delayed until the end of the year or some date later on, again this is just retailers talking.

I can't comment on the localisation but I do know some of them lurk around here!
