Just looking over the market over the last few weeks and all the major cryptocurrencies have completely retraced from their all time highs in December with Ethereum probably taking the worst beating down 72% from it's all time high of $1400.

I'm hoping I can pick up a 1080ti for a reasonable price now. What about you Era?

I won't be happy until everyone who has owned a bitcoin in their life personally begs for forgiveness and mercy on their hands and knees to every hardcore PC gamer.

I hope you're right but I'm not sure if you are. Things go down and up.

Bitcoin was below $1000 before its massive climb. I wouldn't exactly call the bubble popped yet.

The 1080Ti launched over a year ago with an MSRP of $699.

Amazon is still showing new ones from $1000-1200.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=is_s?k=gtx+1080ti

The bubble hasn't popped until new GPU prices are actually at MSRP again.

Oh definitely, the prices on GPUs haven't normalized yet but I think the writing is on the wall with cryptocurrencies. Everyone knows this is the death knell and the writing is on the wall. I imagine prices will fall as demand for "mining cards" fall.

Yeah, I can see 7000-9000 being the new normal value for a while.

I think it's still far from time to dance on Bitcoin's grave, I highly doubt this will bring GPUs to normal prices.

Why do people always talk about bitcoin and GPUs? Bitcoins aren't mined with GPUs anymore. Some other cryptos are, but not bitcoin.

Hopefully cards become free soon, like god and jen-hsun huang intended.

I'm noticing graphics cards are coming back down in price. Amazon had a 1070 for msrp a few days ago.

Personally, I'm hoping I can get a 1080ti at a reasonable price so I can play Star Citizen on launch day.

Bitcoin was at $6250 at the start of February. Crypto isn't going anywhere, it's always fluctuated like crazy. As soon as there is an uptick it'll spike and crash, like it always has. Mining bitcoin hasn't been profitable for a long time, Ethereum even though it has crashed is still profitable.

It will be a long time before miners stop buying GPU's. Speculative investors on exchanges may be a different story.

I mean, have we found a real world use for these cryptocurrrencies beyond buying other cryptocurrencies and illegal drugs and child pornography?

"Popped for good"...? Doubtful, I think this is just the beginning. Bitcoin, at least, will definitely bounce back just a question of how long that takes

link?

so ya people hate on this shit, but you dont even research about it?

I mean, someone says GPU aren't used for bitcoin anymore but I have a friend that still uses his PC and GPU to do it, so I am asking for the poster to support his claim.

Usually , that isn't a big ask...
