Big round of stuff from Gamescom and before on the way too, hope y'all enjoy. (any questions etc)
Is it possible to focus only only on rifles and pistols as your offense? Or use guns offensively while using magic to bolster them as sort of a gun mage thing?

Also is that cool dashing thing the protag keeps doing in all the combat footage a spell of some sort or some sort of default dodge?

I hadn't seen much about this game prior to today. Saw this trailer earlier and was sold pretty hard on it.

Looks really cool! My one hesitation is that I don't like games where I have to control multiple party members in order to find success. I like developing one character and sticking with it. If I can customize my party members and just focus on my own, I'm down to give this a spin. Otherwise, I guess I'm better off playing Dragon Age: Inquisition for the first time

From what I understand, the game won't require you to control multiple party members. Seems like you can customize them and gear them up, but they're just AI-driven companions. You're still playing and developing your character throughout the game.

This reminds me so much of the Octopath Traveler map.

I really enjoyed Bound by Flame. Bought it on a whim because the ps4 lacked games and became a fan of Spiders. Didn't enjoy Technomancer as much, but this looks really great.

I don't think I can justify buying this day one right after Control (and the same day as Gears 5), but I will definitely get to this at some point.

What about this looks like Assassin's Creed? Or did you just wanna get that edgy dig in on AC.
Probably talking about the aesthetic/artstyle only, which kinda similar to Black Flag at a glance. When I watched the trailer on TV yesterday, my wife thought it was a new Assassin's Creed game too at first. But after looking at the RPG systems, she took that back.

It looks great. Too bad it's releasing in the middle of hell month. I'll definitely pick it up eventually.

I've enjoyed Spiders' previous games, though always at a significant discount after release. This is the first time I've ever pre-ordered one of their games (albeit at a discount). Their combat and writing has always been pretty janky but this looks like a big improvement. Even if it isn't, I know exactly what I'm getting so I won't be disappointed.

Whoops, spent all of yesterday in meetings after posting. Answers below!

This trailer has me interested, didn't know about this game until now. Looking forward for more info. When will we know PC requirements?
We don't have them officially out (should be soon), but I've just taken a look at the initial proposal and it's pretty lenient. Similar to A Plague Tale, if you played that. My PC that is a couple of years old at this point is easily past the recommended. If you're playing modern games on the reg, I don't think you'll have any problems.

Thanks for being so proactive =) I know you've answered the ultrawide support question already, but is there any chance of that being added later? It's becoming a much more popular resolution scale for high end PC gamers now, who are the same guys and girls most likely to take beautiful screenshots for social media ;)

Bummed that there's no native 21:9 on pc. But most games that don't feature it can be very easily modded.
Sorry, we know this matters to a bunch of people, and having seen some games I play (FF14) at Ultrawide, I get why it's so appealing now. Smaller publisher, smaller developer, making an ambitious game like this - you know how it is. The nice thing about 21:9 is that it is fairly easy to mod in a way that works 90%+ of the time, but isn't the kind of thing we can officially ship because it has visual or gameplay bugs we wouldn't find acceptable in a paid-for release. We're huge fans of mods at Focus (Mudrunner, Farming Simulator anyone?) and hope you can get Greedfall looking beautiful and thicc.

-are there multiple endings?
-are there some story arcs locked behind some choice?( you can't see everything with one playthrough)
-how long does it take to finish the game?(not rushing/not doing 100%)

Yes

Yes

Our playtime quote is "40-60 hours" for non-rush, non-total-100%, so I think the answer to your Q is towards the lower end of that 45-50. But really, it's so dependent on the player in a game like this - do you read a full subtitle and then skip the rest of the dialogue, for example? That can take off hours on its own. Is your idea of 100% EVERY item, or just every quest? How fast are your load times? Etc. I think we can safely say it'll take you 40+ unless you're a cutscene skipper.

so the game is not open world? 🤔

Large, connected open areas. Loading between each, though you visit a camp where you talk to your party etc. while it loads the next area, so it feels pretty seamless. More depth to the areas because of this - we think it works pretty well.

Is there an Easy difficulty setting that is actually easy? :) Sometimes I just want to cruise through an RPG and enjoy the story without the combat kicking my ass. Past Spiders games have a reputation for being unforgiving.
We've got a range of four that go from pretty easy to pretty hardcore. I think you'll find what you need in there, and we're running a lot of playtests right now in that general theme.

This video was AWESOME!

Getting some really strong Dragon Age vibes, with Souls inspired combat, obviously, and the possibility to rock a Fable build with that rifle.

I'm so in.

Focus Home is the best.

I believe 'gunmage' is one of the guys who works on it favourite build, and one we're showing off to press and such in the coming weeks because it feels pretty cool. To my knowledge, you can always use at least some form of every weapon, but you can specialise pretty heavily. From what I've played - not a whole lot, as it's not a title I'm working on day-to-day - guns feel and look great.

From what I remember, that dash is your default dodge, yeah.

Understandable. Thanks for answering, and hopefully it's something you guys can consider going forwards. Until then, with modding these things, where there's a will there's a way =)

Looks promising, though it's launching at an inauspicious time. I'll give it a crack after the release schedule thins out a little.

40 hrs critical path? Holey moley, I had no idea the game was that big. Multiple endings, too, that's great.

Fingers crossed on this one.

I will never not grin when I see that "A game by Spiders" splash screen.
Spiders made this game.

I don't actually have a whole lot of experience with games by Spiders, but you get the sense that while ambition overreaches their capability, they're an underdog putting all their heart into it; you want to root for Spiders. And what's shown of the game in this video does look quite good, like it has a better balanced ambition-capability ratio, let's say.

Also, hats. So many hats.
Spiders made those hats.

So much to like here. I hope there are difficulty settings. I've tried several Spiders games in the past, and have always been put off by the difficulty curve. Same with Piranha Bytes games.

The trailer really made me interested in the game. Too bad it's releasing too close to BL3 and Link's Awakening.

Seems like a higher budget game this time from Spiders and a lot more polished then their previous titles. I hope it plays as good as it looks.

Disappointed no more "pirate" related posts today. Someone mention pirates. Argghh matey.

For the record, Rembrandt is my favorite pirate portrait painter.

First time I'm really looking at this game properly and it...looks...really....good?

Its a Bioware game, if Bioware still made those

I am very pleasantly surprised, and likely sold on it
