I mean yeah I'm not going to argue. It's just not a culture I'd associate "fandom" with.
They seem perfect for freezing temps outside. Dunno if that would actually cool you down in the suit any though
While the fur fabric is suffocating in normal to high temperatures, it does little in freezing temperatures. The fur is woven into a knit backing, so wind and chilly temperatures easily permeate. I've known people to wear thermal clothing underneath their suits at the Chicago convention.

these people seem chill as fuck. :) very polite. and i like that the guy with the mic didnt make fun of them . Just went with it and let them talk etc.

In HS I was friends with this awkward girl who loved the Animaniacs, drew sketches of the chars all over her notebook... she knew I was an anime fan (super obscure back then in the states, this was the mid 90s when Sailor Moon would air on 6AM Saturday morning) and started talking to me about that and Japanese language learning. We became friends, then I went away to school...
When I graduated and moved back home, I went to Borders after work one day, and ran into her. Her and I got to talking and she told me she was getting married and moving down to I think it was DC or VA... and that she was having a going away party at a local sushi joint. She invited me and I went. This was the early 2000s, the days of Something Awful and their intense mocking of furries...
I went and met her friends, everyone seemed really nice, and then they were telling me about Anthrocon... I learned what exactly Anthrocon was and that my HS friend was a furry and intimately involved in the local furry scene. That made me realize that SA's demonization of furries was ridiculous, and these people were pretty cool and decent. They played it pretty straight at dinner, no bad dragon or anthro porn sketches or anything... going to cons and meeting people in fursuits, they always love posing for pictures and bring a good, cheerful vibe.
Not personally interested in the furry fandom or dressing up but to each their own I guess...

A famous furry once said "furries are fans of each other". Most of what the fandom pumps out is original art so we kinda have to be.
I think it was Pokemon. I was "furry curious" for many years. Then one day I just said "you know what? I'm a furry" and proceeded to register for my first con.
Let's be honest here: most if not all of you in this thread who are lambasting furries, are absolutely into some weird shit too. Possibly far weirder. If we somehow found out what was in ya'll's browser search history, I guarantee a bunch of you would be exposed as massive hypocrites. So I really don't jive with all this furry hate, especially cause I have my own... peculiar interests, hehe.
