Isn't this supposed to air next year? Sounds like they are cutting it close if that's the case.

A Halo show with a Peaky Blinders aesthetic would be something I'd be interested in.

He directed 2018's Robin Hood, which was garbage, but he directed episodes in Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror.

Hmm...

Seems like an okay to good director:
No stranger to helping get genre fare off the ground, Bathurst was also the director for the very first installment of "Black Mirror," the porcine nightmare "The National Anthem." In addition to his work on that anthology series, Bathurst also directed the opening trio of episodes of "Peaky Blinders."

Believe it when I see the set pictures.

Hope it's cool and they somehow manage to make it look good in live action, the weapons and armour still look weird in real media.

Midgar, With Love
Unreal that I spent the better part of a decade mourning the near-total lack of live action space opera and suddenly there's Star Trek: Discovery and The Expanse with Star Trek shows centered on Picard and Section 31, three Star Wars shows and Halo on the horizon.

Btw it will have 9 episodes.

On Thursday, Showtime announced that Otto Bathurst (Black Mirror, Robin Hood) will direct the pilot and multiple episodes of the nine-episode series, which will take inspiration from across the science fiction franchise. Kyle Killen, whose high-concept series Lone Starand Awake have achieved cult status as one-season wonders, serves as Halo's executive producer, writer, and showrunner. Bathurst arrives to the project after directing two episodes of the BBC's new His Dark Materials series.

Please for the love of god don't have it just be a Master Chief side adventure. Best case scenario is an anthology like series. One or two episodes detailing the forerunner human flood wars, one or two episodes detailing a marine squad during the glassing of reach, one or two episodes covering the Covenant, one or two episodes covering the ODSTs, and 4 episodes detailing Blue Team from abduction, training, Reach, and Chief on Halo.

Nah, I want a sprawling space opera with a big ensemble cast and a compelling story that has a beginning a middle and an end. Five series should do it :)

I #Believe in Kyle Killen.
Same. Lonestar was amazing

I want the same thing. But I don't believe they can pull it off sadly. I've seen too many space opera TV shows turn to garbage. Babylon 5 was the last one that stayed good.

God I wish this would be a straight up adaption of CE. It'll be pants if they do a story set after the Halo trilogy

Don't know much about his movie creds, but I immediately recognized the name from Peaky Blinders, so he is good in my book...

Every time I see something on this:

itshappening.gif

followed by panicky mantra

"Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. OH DEAR GOD Please be good. Please be good."

Showtime can have all my dollars.

The Halo TV show has had so many false starts. I'll only believe that it exists once I'm watching it on my TV.

I just hope there will be a streaming solution. I don't have cable service and can't justify a subscription just for one show.
