I despise Halloween. :<

I always have to hide in my own house or just go to some random place because if you don't give candy to the kids around here they get rowdy and vandal-y, and I AIN'T giving shit to those little shits. :<

1000 pieces of candy, 1 per kid.

Out of candy.
Holy moly!

I don't live at my mother's house anymore, but even when I did, we NEVER got that many visitors. Not even close. At most, a couple of bags of variety candy would do it, and that's being generous. Whenever charged with giving out candy, I'd even go beyond one piece per visitor to get rid of it all. We lived in the quiet area of the neighborhood, however, so I guess it was to be expected. When I went trick-or-treating myself, I knew where to go for the best activity and it was definitely a specific region in the center of everything, as opposed to the outer rims of the peninsula where my family lived.

Never experienced loads and loads of kids coming to the door. When I hear stories of people being swarmed with trick-or-treaters, I just can't relate. More often than not, we were left over with candy that we had to finish ourselves. A nice addition to "fat season" right before Thanksgiving and Christmas. XD

It's too bad nobody seems to be in the spirit anymore. Every year there's less and less decorations and trick or treaters around. At least in Toronto. Probably because the weather seems to be a lot colder around this time compared to 20 years ago.

Maybe it's just the commercialism of it all. Halloween isn't much of a day anymore; it's more of a month. We get Halloween cheer all of October but then there's that one, obligatory "giving out candy" day and then we're on to the next holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas, which are basically two parts of the same overall celebration).

Like, they advertise Halloween and start selling candy in friggin' July. By the time we get to Halloween itself, people are just done.

So, I'm not getting any trick or treaters. Which is pretty wierd, since I live in a neighborhood full of kids and my house is lit up (no decorations, but indoor lights are on). It doesn't seem to just be me, I haven't seen kids on the street at all either.

I expected them to show up on the Weekend, since this Halloween is on the weekday, but they didn't. But they're also not showing up on the actual halloween date?
