Since this has been out in Japan for a while do we know if this is a straight 100% remake? Everything is there from the original, gender choice, marriages, etc? My wife is super looking forward to this (she was getting into the Doraemon Story of Seasons demo but didn't want to buy the game since you can only play as Noby).

The rival marriages have apparently been excised entirely, and two new marriage candidates have been added. Gender choice is still in it, and now features some light customization options (that pale in comparison to the 3DS era of SoS, but whatever). Also it has gay marriage.

Seems like the localisation is overhauling the Best Friend System to be just Same-Sex Marriage.
