Storywise, the 343 material has been divisive. Multiplayer wise, there's a lot more competition out there these days. And Xbox isn't what it used to be. So yeah. I don't know about sales numbers, but the market has expanded and it doesn't command as large a fraction of the Mart anymore.
If MS was serious about Halo being big again and Scarlett suceeding they would've taken it away from 343i.
There just doesnt seem to be any buzz around the new Halo game; not as much as in the past atleast. Halo was freaking huge back in early 2000 and well into next decade. Maybe it is just me, but is it not on the same hype level as 10-15 years ago?
I hate to be negative towards a developer group but 343 hasn't made a single game that even compares to Bungie's worst Halo games in my opinion.
The Master Chief Collection being highly anticipated on PC just proves my point. No one plays Halo 4 on that collection and no one is clamoring for Halo 5 to be added.
The problem with Halo is that the new developers best games are the remakes of the previous developers best games.
I'm sorry
I have this feeling as well.Yeah, but I feel if this next one launches along with the new box it'll come back pretty strong.
Yes. And I don't see a lot of hypy online. And it was MS show-ender at E3. That should tell you something.
Same.I used to love Halo but the story is a huge goddamn mess and it made me lose interest.
If you think Halo Reach MP is better than Halo 5 MP than you truly are l-
Sorry I couldn't finish that sentence because I was stopped by ARMOR LOCK.
The main problem with Halo is that Bungie/Microsoft got the idea that story was somehow a big pillar in the Halo brand. The story, at least in the games, is pure trash and not at all why people loved Halo: CE.
Speak for yourself. The Story is a massive reason as to why I'm a halo fan, along with all of my siblings. We only ever played local multiplayer and campaign. Hell, for us, Halo was always a campaign game first.
Oh for sure, I'm a campaign man myself. But I like the sandbox gameplay and exploration aspects.
I feel like halo, gears, uncharted and god of war all went through the same popularity cycle. They were on top of the world last gen and slowly lost thier appeal due to repetition.
God of war is the only one that managed to rekindle the interest to the franchise so far, curious to see how rest of those ips are gonna handle it.
Just telling it how it is. No need to be sorry. I feel the same way.I hate to be negative towards a developer group but 343 hasn't made a single game that even compares to Bungie's worst Halo games in my opinion.

Some? Halo was at one point a cultural touchstone. Now, it's a somewhat successful FPS totally overshadowed by its peers. Exclusivity to a suddenly unpopular brand didn't help it.
But they never...GOW and Uncharted are bigger then ever.I feel like halo, gears, uncharted and god of war all went through the same popularity cycle. They were on top of the world last gen and slowly lost thier appeal due to repetition.

lol and given it to who?If MS was serious about Halo being big again and Scarlett suceeding they would've taken it away from 343i.
lol and given it to who?
Bungie is not an option, so who else?
Halo 5 still sold a lot compared to other games just nowhere near Halo 3. 5 mill in 3 months back in 2015.I'm actually somewhat surprised Halo is getting the next gen treatment at the outset of next gen considering its decline in popularity, but MS got that Azure money now and their general trajectory is completely different from how others are operating with Gamepass so its clear subs are their focus now not traditional game sales. Which is very cool for the consumer, seriously I have too many gamepass games and too little time HELP.
It and Gears feel like real examples of diminishing returns. Im sure the games themselves are just fine but the general excitement seems to die a a bit for them with each new entry.
Reach was the start of the decline, especially in the comp community. AA's and Bloom are still awful, happy the MCC version is launching with all the fixed TU settings.
It's definitely going to launch to the largest user base...ever? (for Halo) Current/next gen console, PC/Steam, Game Pass... lots of people are going to be playing. Pretty excited about that prospect.Combination of PC and gamepass along with cross gen should easily push Infinite to be more popular than any halo game since 3.
