Thanks. Sorry for being off topic but I had to get to the bottom of that.
So glad to be living in Glasgow now, but even here, the tartan tat has begun creeping onto places like Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street. I guess rents are absolutely knock-down cheap for the moment because of online shopping, so these kinds of shops survive, even if its rare for anyone native to go in, just the odd tourist.
The worst shit is the pipe band music they blare 24-7. I love some good pipe band stuff but it just sends my internal Scottish cringe to a whole new level going past one of those shops.
The phrase "can of mayonnaise" is triggering me so bad right now.

I'm not sure if it'll make things any better, but something was just passed to allow a third of the storefronts along Princes Street to become a restaurant or bar. It'll at least bring some much needed change to the street and hopefully see a few of those tartan tat places fuck off.
That the old BHS? I moved away from Edinburgh a year ago now. I remember one of those tat magnates tried opening up a megastore in it but it seemed to bite the dust pretty quickly, and the place was just left derelict.
Bruh. Gotta get the free energy drinks. Red bull or rockstars at the casinos.

I think that old BHS is under renovation but I have no idea what it's becoming. It wouldn't surprise me if it was some Amazon thing.
I went into a Barnes and Noble and checked the price of a book I was interested in buying against a new copy on Amazon. On Amazon it was $25, at the store it was $45. Is there really a reason for that great of a price difference?

do bags of crisps in the UK list a suggested retail price? i think thats common in the US, most 8 oz bags suggested price is like 4 bucks or sommit but most stores sell for less

Don't buy things from the hotel gift shop when you're in Vegas. Only but things from the ABC Store, Walgreens, or CVS.
That way you pay convenience store prices instead of "stealing yo' money" prices.
Like for you, there's that CVS directly to the south of the CityCenter complex that would have worked.

In terms of retail mark-up and paying ridiculous amounts of money for materials worth a small fraction of the cost, I'd give this one to designer fashion or diamond jewelry. Say a pair of Gucci sunglasses for example. Pay $50 for the glasses and $950 for the logo.
