In old movies, street sex workers are insanely common in cities, especially in New York.
I was always thought this was odd because I've lived in LA for close to a decade and never seen anyone I thought was offering sex for sale. I'm going to assume they moved to massage parlors, the internet and maybe just areas away from nonclient traffic. Or maybe I'm just not very observant.
Because about ten minutes ago, I saw an attractive young women dancing along to her music at the bus stop. And it instantly brought a smile to my face. Because she seemed so happy. Then a guy in a black sedan pulled up, snapped a photo with a telephoto lens and she stopped dancing. Guy next to me commented "there goes the cops." Pretty steep 180. From "there is happiness and good in this world" to "that's a sex worker trying to drum up business."
