Cannot hit 10; it's so difficult. How do some of you get beyond rank 5 every month, I can't believe how brutal it is without the win streak bonuses =/

that's why i usually don't push too much past that rank. It's so tough. I once got to rank 1 back in sometime like june of last year and couldn't make it to legend because of all the time it took me to get to rank 1 in the first place.
4 and 5 are pretty easy in my opinion, since everyone is fucking around. 6 can be a real bitch sometimes. But yeah, rank 3 to 1 is tough. I need to be playing a deck I actually enjoy and has a good matchup spread if I want to play anything higher than rank 3. For me it's mostly just about farming whatever is popular at those ranks. If you can figure that out, then you can't climb a lot easier. How do some of you get beyond rank 5 every month, I can't believe how brutal it is without the win streak bonuses =/
Rank 13. Wiibomb has been coaching... but I'm a slow learner.
The expansions of the Year of the Dragon are narratively connected with a big overarching story, so it better pay off :PThey're trying to set up some kind of story, which could pay off.
I think it's somewhat interesting. I wonder if Blizzard will have new cards based on each of these or maybe some gang similar to Gadgetzan.

going by iconinc guys I feel like we might see Rafaam as the fifthI like this theme of iconic bad.guys so far. I hope we get something new though. What's left? The demon at the end of Karazhan?
It'll be cool to start with a league of bad guys causing chaos, then an expansion of good guys, then the final confrontation as 3rd.
It will come down to how they present the "story" through the cards more than anything.
They sure need to mix things up, the last year made it feel that they already milked light-hearted funny Warcraft dry.
that's hearthstone at its core... the only real serious sets of the expansion were KFT and may be, WotOG, the rest is goofy. That's the idea of the game
and that's the idea of this year, hopefuly they really mean it and get deeper with the overarching story of the 3 expansions of this year.Yes, and I'm not saying they need to leave it behind, but dig a little deeper. Get more interesting with how the game presents itself to the player. Like everything else with HS it needs to evolve, even if it's just little.
How were you surviving 10 damage a turn?Just beat a Mecha'Thun Druid by clearing my own board and keeping it clean, so he couldn't clear his own minion (thus Mecha'Thun not being able to activate). That felt good.
I was playing Druid as well, so armor wasn't an issue. At some point he got me down to ~15 health, so I dropped the 8 mana 2/14 taunt to stall some more turns (high enough health to not die, low attack to not have Mecha'Thun die). He died to fatigue in the end.How were you surviving 10 damage a turn?
I always like beating them too though, especially with Control Priest.
err you cant kill the mechathun when he tempoed it like that?I was playing Druid as well, so armor wasn't an issue. I'm not sure what you mean?
Usually they just tempoed the cthun and save their card in that spot tho your opp maybe made correct play tho. Although he surely could manage his resource better if he only 1 hp off from killing his pyro to win lolI'm not sure what you mean?
He naturalized that minion I left alive, so he had only Mecha'Thun eventually. He had no cards in hand and in his deck, so if I played more minions/killed him of I would've 100% lost.
I guess I was a bit vague, situation was like this. He had a Wild Pyromancer on board and Mecha'Thun, Innervate and Naturalize in hand (combo). I killed my Tar Creeper (spellstone), Lich King (Naturalize) and other minion (That destroy a minion, take that much damage spell I got from Lich King), so that he couldn't kill his Pyromancer by trading.
He opted to play his Mecha'Thun, Innervate and Naturalize his Wild Pyromancer (honestly not sure if he could've naturalized his Mecha'thun there, what is the interaction?), so he had only Mecha'Thun. I stalled with armor and the taunt minion in the end, he died to fatigue.
He definitely messed up with his resources, I'm just happy I saw the play with killing off my own board lol.Usually they just tempoed the cthun and save their card in that spot tho your opp maybe made correct play tho. Although he surely could manage his resource better if he only 1 hp off from killing his pyro to win lol
Nice sarcasm, but I would be very hyped to see a system like they announced for Arena, but for Ranked. More aggressive and frequent rotations while keeping Standard pure.I hope you're all excited for the new "Wylde" expansion, which allows you to play using cards from all different years of Hearthstone. Imagine the possibilities when you get to play the cards you've seen before, again!
On this note, I think this is actually a healthy idea for a limited format like Arena. I liked the sound of the changes they announced, which is kind of like MTG Arena handles it -- every week or two they change up what set the limited format (Arena equivalent) pulls from, so it doesn't get stale.Nice sarcasm, but I would be very hyped to see a system like they announced for Arena, but for Ranked.
