"I think Europe needs to get a handle on migration because that is what lit the flame," Clinton said, speaking as part of a series of interviews with senior centrist political figures about the rise of populists, particularly on the right, in Europe and the Americas.

"I admire the very generous and compassionate approaches that were taken particularly by leaders like Angela Merkel, but I think it is fair to say Europe has done its part, and must send a very clear message – 'we are not going to be able to continue provide refuge and support' – because if we don't deal with the migration issue it will continue to roil the body politic."

Thoughts?

Long-term western meddling in Africa and the ME is the reason we have a migrant crisis in the first place. I think it is disgusting to see someone who calls herself a progressive trying to detach the west from its responsibility in destabilizing these areas in the first place. I also think trying to appease far right extremists like Hillary Clinton is trying to do here only gets you more far right extremism, not less.

The people causing lots of the problem in the world today are so out of touch as to what their actions cause. From salvery, to wars, to sanctions, to racism. These people are just always confused.

I understand where she's coming from but I fundamentally disagree. Don't submit to demands from terrorists. Pretty simple, IMO.

Then who do the centrists vote for? A lot of centrists vote Democrat simply because the GOP is the party where the racists are.
