I'm going to relisten to it when I'm in the right mood. The first time I listened to it, I was annoyed at all the yelling, so I'm going to wait till I'm the right mindset.

I don't know if you both saw, but Ishmael Butler released a new record this year under the name Knife Knights. It's pretty nice.
State of the Culture is still lacking chemistry for me. Remy doesn't add much to conversations besides scolding people, ditto for Scotty although her perspectives are a bit more unique but she hasn't really gotten any better since she was at Hot97, Jinx is too smart to be there for the banter, and Joe doing those semi-professional intros is awkward AF. Whole vibe is off and feels forced to me TBH.

Say what you will about Cardi (and I have said some very negative things about how she interacts with certain groups of people), but she has made sure she wasn't a one hit wonder. She jumped on high profile feature after high profile feature, made a lot of hits on her own album so she didn't become a features-first artist, and then got the song of the summer (arguably).
I looked at a speculative year end chart and she's on 8 out of the 100 songs in some form.
For comparison - Drakes on 9 songs in the year end in some form
