Really could never hold Blood On the Leaves in that high regard because of the TNGHT track. Unlike, say, Lifted's Mercy beat, we had heard that beat long before, even if Ye took it to another level. Especially given how many other incredible songs he has in his catalogue, #2 is a head scratcher.

It is so much more lyrically ambitious, loaded in implications, and structurally risky than that though. Going from Strange Fruit to that is a harsh and potent juxtaposition that parallels the narrative of a hedonistic relationship becoming a tragedy. And the production is so much more textured and layered with Kanye's adaptations.

So many cars DMV thought it was mail fraud
Different traps, I was getting mail from
Polk County, Jacksonville, rep Melbourne
Whole clique appetite's had tapeworms
Spinning Teddy Pendergrass vinyl as my J burns
I shed a tear before the night's over
God bless the man I put this ice over
Getting 2Pac money twice over
Still a real n*gga, red Coogi sweater, dice roller
I'm making love to the angel of death
Catching feelings never stumble, retracing my steps

Actually, I might be the most upset at Real Friends going out to Stronger that early. If we start dismissing Blood On The Leaves cause of the TNGHT track, Stronger ain't shit for the same reasons.

The beat to Stronger is so much more generic than Harder Better Faster Stronger's too. More of a generic synthy song rather than the off-kilter grooves of the original.

And that's before I talk about the low quality of the lyrics, including that godawful Klondike bar.

i liked Can't Tell Me Nothing a lot more of the two lead singles but to be honest i think most of my hype for Graduation was based on my desire to watch 50 fail. boy oh boy was i not a fan of G-Unit back in their heyday, i'll tell ya

Every time I hear Q is about to drop, in my head I hear the "Q!" followed by the instrumental at the end of Brand New Guy.

Real Friends definitely should have won and also Can't Tell Me Nothing should have progressed quite a bit imo, but it lost to Jesus Walks which was a good competitor.

These DJVLAD interviews popped up on my recommended and dude might be the most head ass interviewer. Some of those China Mac snippets were too funny seeing him correct Vlad on shit.

Honestly juice should just make an album full of this sound. Can't stop listening to it for some reason lol.

I got to give tot o Juice for doubling down on his pop punk laced sound. Not all tracks hit for me, and its way too long but I respect his vision to stay in his lane.

I admire the sound of some of juice wrld's songs but I just cannot fuck with the lyrics. They're like if Lil Yachty ghostwrote an XXXtentacion album.

Nah he's comparable to frank ocean.

Except Juice's audience is that 16 year old emo teenager.

And Frank's is for people over 30.

His immaturity is almost... cute?

Going to be honest... nah. Channel Orange was an album that really resonated with me when I was an angsty bi teen (and with hindsight I get why it stuck with me). Though he is in a super different lane. Juice Wrld is closer to Simple Plan or Blink 182 - really commercialised pop punk. It's just that hip hop is the new pop, so ergo pop punk now sounds like this.

Yeah that's true lol. I'm nowhere near 30 but still love frank ocean. I think I meant it more that they kinda sing about the same subject matter (a lot less hard drugs on frank's side) but Frank actually sounds like he's been through some shit while Juice wrld sounds he sings about more relationships than he actually had.

But yeah honestly as someone who listened to a lot of shit like say anything and various other pop punk growing up there's something almost nostalgic about juice wrld lol.

Ready for Q. Every feature he has been on within the last year has been absolutely ridiculous. Dude has a fire inside of him and I'm curious to see what he's got to say about losing mac, if anything g
