Great shout on Kelsey Lu and Blood Orange, surprised Blood didn't make more end of year album lists tbh. Foreign Car slaps and the I'm not in love cover is beautifully lush.

Album title for that Mick is appropriate, it definitely sounds like a circus in comparison to his other works. Im feelin in. Cant wait to see him and Earthgang

A pet peeve of mine with creative popular rappers, is when they release good projects back to back, get more famous and more famous, and then decide that the next logical step within their career musically is to try something new. There's nothing wrong with trying something new but it can get problematic when the artist is like yea my next album is gonna incorporate ____....just because I want to try something new. I'm not talking about the type of new direction that Kanye has historically done, for example.

I think there's the pressure by fanbases and peers to experiment, especially if you're known for raising the bar each time.

Kendrick could very well just refine the sound he is already known for, but I don't doubt there are voices in or around him telling him to do something unexpected.

1917 mid. Needed to be much more suspenseful when it counts, plus I swear most of the movie had some generic ambient score going on which distracted from whatever soundscape they were going for. Still worth watching though, a 'cinema-movie' no doubt.
