Not really, the counter actually bugged out. Dropping items no longer changed the counter like it should and I was holding all 11 when it said I had 6.
If you have the basement kitchen starting location, try following this guide, but make sure you don't use the coconut to knock out the first security guard. You actually need to have all 12 items in your possession for the challenge to pop. If at any point the counter stops going up when you pick up a required item, it means you were too slow and one of the required items was picked up by one of the targets. When you knock Santa out and take his disguise, make sure you pick up the battle axe again. When you climb up to the attic, you'll automatically drop the axe, but you'll be climbing back down the same way, so you'll be able to pick it up again. Once the challenge pops, you can drop the axe and sabre and either sneak out to the party or get caught trespassing and get escorted out.

Anyone had problems with the cutscenes cutting themselves short? Just had the cutscene after Columbia cut out about 20 seconds before it was supposed to finish.

Only happened once so it's not exactly a pattern, but odd nonetheless.

Didn't care for this elusive. Spent the first 30-60 mins like every elusive just trying to find them and track their routine. Didn't help the first few times I restarted he'd be somewhere different so I thought I was running into him a different points in this movement routine. One of my biggest grips in S1 was that they don't highlight the target in red on elusives and it's not challenging but just a waste of time to find them initially. The intro cutscenes are a little helpful but like inside a building with green screen is not very helpful in a giant map like Colombia where it could be anywhere.

Plus unless you're a Hitman pro like that santa flashbang video above it seemed like it was just a tedious SA of clearing/distracting guards and poisoning drink and that's about all you can do. I was kinda of hoping there'd be more unique options like the first one.

I wonder with the flashbang (I've never used it) looking at that video above if when he's in the fishing village if you can just toss one out when he's peering over the river, run up and push him in and run off?

I've never used a concussion grenade but would it work to just throw one in the room with him and his guards and cameraman and it'll knock them all out and you just snap his neck and leave with an SA? Wanted to do that on my run but couldn't get an opening so just did a poison SA.

Quick question, and please forgive me if it has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything.

If I buy Hitman 2 + Hitman 2016 Legacy Pack, is there any reason at all to buy and play Hitman 2016 on it's own? Or should I just forget that one exists and go with the previously mentioned combo?

There's no compelling reason to go back to the 2016 game.

There are some contracts in the 2016 game that I rather enjoyed, that aren't yet in Hitman 2, but that's not a difference worth spending more on.

There's no challenge for this, but what happens when you provide a blood-stained cocaine brick to Jorge Franco is very amusing.

Failed the elusive target.

Didn't help that I think it might have bugged. The target was in an endless loop of giving his speech, taking a sip then sitting back down for another take, all in a single building. Should've just thrown a bomb in the room when I first thought to do so.

Pretty sure that's not a bug, that's all he does is sit in a room and give a speech, have a drink, go smoke outside and sit and give a speech and repeat in one of 3 possible locations. He never leaves the location as far as I know.

Finally just finished the main game. A god tier experience. I struggle to even rank my favourite missions. Anyone actually paid attention to the story who can explain why exactly Constant
seemed so confident despite his position? like very lol, idc, I won't snitch on anyone and you guys will meet your end despite the position you've put Providence in? Are they trying to imply that 47 is going to switch loyalties when his memory is further restored (e.g., he remembers that he's the one who killed Burnwood's parents)? I dunno any of the lore outside of this from the books, so.

The target never travels around the map, afaik he only goes outside the building (in the fishing village) for a short while. So the two best options to get five stars seem to be going very slow eliminating other people one by one or very fast by staging a lockdown and hoping to get lucky.

SA elusive done

that felt hard to plan.
I used the remote distraction device and hoped for the best, once it gave me an opportunity to poison the drink and it worked.

The issue for me is that he never left his shack near the fishing area at all. I watched him in there for a solid 10 minutes and there was no sign of a routine change. Ah, well.

Was this target a nod to Big Boss btw?

Taking him out while he smokes is incredibly easy too if you throw a something near the guard near the gas tube and subdue him behind a wall.

I need to attempt Elusives sooner; last time the GB thread didn't tag discussion and this time it was my own fault for absent mindedly going in here without thinking.

At least I know it's easy-ish when I try when I'm home again later this week... Next time I'll actually go in blind.

I'm having some trouble with the Snail Mail challenge in Whittleton Creek (delivering the package). I ring the doorbell and the guy comes round but then he just stands at the steps to his porch for a while then goes back. There's no option to interact with him if I get close either. What am I doing wrong?

edit: Oh you just put it in the letterbox outside duh.

I died in the cocoa fields because some dude noticed me taking out a dude even though I was concealed. Elusive Targets are dumb.

Alright, I got the elusive target in the village building with the construction worker; the one with the gas canister next to the place where the ET goes to smoke his cigar. This is a perfect opportunity to kill him by accident. However, he always has some dude with him when he smokes his cigar. My question is: if the gas canister explodes, will it also kill the other dude?

I just finished it but I guess people didn't like the setup. It did take me 45ish minutes just to locate him and it felt like an impossible situation to SA but I pulled off my smoothest hit yet.

How long is left on the ET? I'm away on vacation for a few more days and I'd like to try it but can't get to my computer for a while yet.

IO really did a number of sniper gameplay with 2, huh?

Trying to do the Sniper Assassin challenge on Colorado from the water tower but less than a second after taking out a target the guards are just raining bullets down on me, I can't even get down the ladder before it switches to combat mode and the guys on the roof kill me. Changed strategy, take out Maya by shooting through the window of the barn near the default spawn location and a guard comes sprinting my way. I hide in the long grass but he comes directly to me, concealed and all, and spots me.
Late reply but you want to first take out the two guards on the rooftop below the water tower, there is a bin up there conveniently to dump them in. The trick is to take the shots from the rooftop then climb back up the tower to elude the search. So basically climb back up the tower after picking someone off every time. The guards for some reason will never find you up there using this method.

So I was trying to do Holiday Hoarders challenges and screwed up multiple times, especially annoying was this otherwise well-executed run where I had EVERYTHING in one but then after I knocked Harry out thrice in a row with bricks in the basement, his scripting broke and he just went into the ground floor bathroom and stood in front of the potty. I knocked him out again and again and again. So annoying. But also hilarious once I found him staring at the wall above the toilet.

Targets that don't have a big varied schedule bug the shit out of me. I got him by poisoning the wine but yeah... don't like moving in those cramped confined spaces especially when you have no idea if you're being watched or not

I looked up some tips for being able to find this elusive target, read an article from Newsweek on it and I think it's plagiarised from a Mr Freeze 2244 video.

It has the same method, including specific places to do things, but it also looks like a misinterpretation of the video.

It says to check the wrong building to see if the target is there. https://www.newsweek.com/hitman-2-r...target-guide-how-kill-vicente-murillo-1269555

In the Mr Freeze video, that pictured building was in view at the time he said to check the building, but he was referring to the building beyond it. https://youtu.be/0pbXbZF_KQg?t=97

I actually think sniping from the house is the best way to do it. Gives you line of sight on all the targets at some point and provides more cover.

Mr Freeze usually just copies strategies he sees on hitmanforums and reddit anyway.

Me too. Feels bad. I spent ages trying to find the dude then when i did i tried to sneakingly take out a guard but was spotted and all hell broke loose. Died within about 3 seconds. Bah.

This is exactly what happened to me. I thought I could take out one of the guards when I shut off the fuse box but as soon as I started to knock him out, someone spotted me. I shot the ET in the head and ran but there are guards everywhere!

Not a huge fan of the esca, getting the thing is fun but the kill is fucking messy and they always noticed the kill apparently even if I left 1 second after. Killed him in the bathroom with the package but somehow they saw it. Dumb.

I grabbed the package, went to the bedroom to grab the boat keys, waited for him to enter the bathroom, then tossed the package through the bathroom window and blew it up on the way to the boat. Managed to get SA somehow, but not the best time.

Just about to finish the last challenges for Mumbai and a couple questions about the stage left.

What's the point of the Holy Man outfit? Can you do anything with it?
Anything you can do with an Ironworker outfit?

Also any other scripted things you can do with Kale besides

-The flag and tea
-The barber
-The meeting with Vanya
-The meeting with Dawood
-The meeting with the sniper guy down in the crows nest basement
-Poisoning his tea
-Dropping signs on him

Ok, finished all the challenges in Mumbai. Was fun, most annoying/tedious one was the barber shaving 15 people but even that had unique funny stories and was simple enough. Good challenges all around. The triple sniper from the beach house lookout one though shows how broken the sniper detection currently is and really needs a patch. Each time I took out a target without being seen their entire posse ran straight to the sniper spot and surrounded it and would never leave. Ended up just taking out the 3rd target (Kale) while surrounded by guys who couldn't seem to climb the ladder. They should really patch it so people 500 feet away don't instantly know where you are and start firing or run there.

Damn. Spent like 2hrs figuring out the best way to take out the elusive, killed him unseen, suit only. Got careless on my way out and didn't notice a guy in my way, choked him out..also didn't notice the guy on the other side of the room looking directly at him.
