Like is this even legal here is there movie slate for 2019.

Avengers 4
Star Wars episode 9
The lion king
Toy story 4
Frozen 2
The jungle book 2
Dumbo
Aladdin
Mulan
Also captain marvel :O

Jesus Christ can you just look at that for a sec. Not to be bold but I feel like the first 5 will hit a billion easily. With some of those possible reaching multi billion. Is this even fair to other movie companies or should they just quit. I mean god damn era just look at that and let’s talk about how fucking stacked it is. That’s not even all of them with there being some unannounced ones and a cruela movie. I created this thread because I’m just so shocked on how good there output looks.

Disney has became my favorite movie studio as of lately and it doesn’t look like they are stopping anytime soon. Sure they have some junk come out but most of there movies are pure joy for 2 hours.

Plus Captain Marvel. You know Disney’s gonna go bananas marketing their first female superhero movie.

Is Mulan confirmed for 2019? I know it was bumped from 2018, but I remember looking at their schedule a few months ago and only seeing a blank slot for an "untitled live-action remake" in 2020. Meanwhile 2019 was pretty full.

That's such a boring lineup. Don't really give a shit about live action remakes, and i have no faith in J J abrahms

I'm curious how Frozen 2 turns out. The original directors, writers, and songwriters (who just did Coco) are returning, but the only good Disney sequel (not Pixar) is The Rescuers Down Under.

It's weird to continue a story after your supposed "happily ever after."

Also the same year they launch their streaming service with Star Wars, Monsters Inc., and High School Musical shows. Maybe Bob Iger will start campaigning for president, too.

Everybody under the age of 12 will be thrilled, I'm sure.

They could do 8 billion dollars in ticket sales with that slate if they play their cards right.

here
Isn’t a monopoly a company that controls a majority of what they are doing. Like those railroad companies back in the day.
they don't have control of a majority of film productions, they are just releasing a lot of movies

think of how many movies in total will release in 2019

probably more than 17

I'm slightly interested in Toy Story 4 just to see if they can prove a fourth film was necessary but other than that none of those movies are interesting to me.

Because they're Disney and they can actually follow that year up.
because it's working for them
Cause they can space those out over 12 months and be just fine
Those movies will all make money. Disney likes money. Why wait?
Of course Disney wants money and it's money that makes the world go around. I just wondered if they'd be better off spacing them out more, as 2020 may not be as big of a year. I don't follow movie releases too closely though.

It just feels like overkill. But if we're getting a new Star Wars movie every year, which is also overkill, then I guess they'll still have a huge year regardless.

That's a very weird lineup. Why would they release 4 "live" action remakes in 1 year as well as a live action followup to a remake?? I'm only interested in the first two movies on that list, maybe Toy Story 4 but another Toy Story seems completely unnecessary after the ending of 3.

They're not even releasing a lot of movies. Most of the other studios will release more movies than Disney every year, Disney just releases the biggest ones.

It'll be insane. Even if 5 of those 10 movies were to under perform, it'd still be a gigantic year for them. I could see it being the first year that the entertainment division comes anywhere close to the parks division

Just think of the merchandise sales alone for Star Wars Episode IX. $4 billion was a hell of a deal for Lucasfilm.

I think Avengers 4, Captain Marvel, and Episode IX are locks to be good.
I have my doubts about Episode IX. The guy writing it wrote Batman v Superman and Justice League. It doesn't give me much confidence in it. Plus, you have JJ directing it.

See I’m the opposite this is the one that interest me the least. Like toy story 3 ended so well why do they need to make another?
That's what I want to know. I wanna see if there's something more to it than just money. They have those Toy Story Toons that I haven't had any interest in watching what's gonna make Toy Story 4 stand apart from those?
