I was thinking earlier today how me watching anime ruined my life. I started smoking cigarettes because I wanted to be a cool guy like Spike Spiegal. I can't get a girlfriend because anime ruined 2D girls for me and made me socially awkward. Hentai has made real sex foreign. My anime fandom is a curse, a drug I can never get rid of. I am scared to have an anime avatar for fear of outing myself as a weeb. I tried showing friends JoJo and they look at me funny. I get accused of enjoying porn for liking goddamn visual novels. I feel oppressed.

So my question to you is how has anime affected you? I imagine there other victims like myself.

Why can't y'all just enjoy anything in moderation?

Y'all need Jesus-san.

Anime made me a criminal. I borrowed entire series' from Blockbuster video and made copies of them all. Dear Lode forgive me!

Minimal. Got out when the industry started being propped up by creepy nerds with infinite cash flow.

If you're being legit OP you need help for sure.

Anyway I have watched and continue to watch a lot of anime and it's been positive for me as I've made friends through mutual interests! It's easy to use common sense and know it's not real though so there's been no negative impacts.

I am not an anime consumer myself but I do feel that, because I spend so much time on the internet, I have suffered minor harm from second-hand anime.

I sometimes go to conventions and there's an anime section of giant waifu pillows. It's how I know what shows and movies to avoid.

I don't really watch anime, but I discovered hentai when I was like 10 and I think it might've screwed me up a little :,D

It made me somewhat depressed in middle school because life was so udderly boring compared to the adventures that anime characters go on.

It definitely put me out of touch with four years worth of American pop culture.

I'll say minimum damage. The extended group of people I hung around with in college had a couple of guys who would wear ninja headbands and do the Naruto run through the hallways. It was a little embarrassing.

A lot of heartache caused by exposure to the few genuinely great works of anime out there within a short timespan, followed by years and years of chasing that dragon only to realize much too late that the dragon doesn't really exist.

I think I reached peak anime when I was a kid watching DBZ and my cousin said, "why is it singing 'drag my balls'"?
