Almost everything in this country is getting worse & worse under Trump, his administration, Republicans/GOP & on the Supreme Court. I am livid, & I'm losing faith that something is going to be done about these people.

At what point, will it take for America to wake up, & start storming Washington D.C. like the citizens of South Korea had done against their former president? I'm predicting another civil war to break out if shit like this continues at this rate.

This is ridiculous.

I can't see it happening. We're a very disconnected country. Think roads, suburbs, and so on. Families are disconnected compared to the 19th century. Institutions are weak. There's less civic involvement in terms of groups. We're are you expecting these large swaths of freedom fighters to coalesce from? Everyone is basically their own island.

Never. How is anyone going to organize a rebel force, and gather a standing army?

We're not even at the point of organized and sustained Monkey Wrenching yet. We're a long way off from a full blown civl war.

In the weak and the wounded
If you're looking for a standing military vs a standing military civil war, you aint going to find it.

If you're looking at civilian vs civilian culture/class civil war....

We might already be in it.

When less than 60% of adult Americans can be bothered to actually vote, I don't see how you find enough willing to start a war.

In terms of open conflict? Probably never. We'll continue to have protestors killed like in Charlottesville as well as mass shootings and possibly assassination attempts on politicians, but it won't escalate beyond that.

Culturally? It's already well under way. The first civil war never ended on that front.

These “impending civil war” threads are getting old

Americans are too complacent and between the right, centrists, and their apathetic friends and family the balance is too lopsided

We all want a civil war that somebody else fights and somehow we end up on top of.

In other words, it isn't happening.

We're not there yet, but we could get there under this government. This is something racist right wing whites have been dreaming about for years.

Only civil war we'll be seeing will be on Twitter.

I doubt the US will have a civil war in any near lifetime.

People like to suggest this, or consider it a real possibility, but they never put any thought to the actual logistics of it or the price we'd pay.

Widespread civil disobedience may be on the horizon, but a full-blown civil war is never going to happen.
