It's really not hard to finish that many games.

He say you have 7 hours a week to game, an hour a day. That's 364 hours a year. Say even if your average game is 30 hours that's still 12 games a year.

I've had a crazy busy year and am at 28 right now. It's my hobby of choice so I guess it allows me to play a bit more

Now try playing games that are ~200 hours long and see how you do (like Witcher 3 etc). Not every game is a short 30 hour game.

I voted 0-25. This thread made me curious as to how many games I beat last year: 7. This year I have beat 4, and I'm tracking to end up at 7 again at the end of the year.

So, I really shouldn't be buying more than 7 games a year, lol.

The range on this poll is absurd. Even if I were to dedicate all of my free time to it, there's no way I'd be able to finish more than 25 games. That's a pretty hard ceiling.

So uh, I track this stuff since 2011... I only count a game when I either see the credits.
I don't track stuff like Rocket League, Tetris, etc. since they don't end. It does include stuff like Outrun on Switch, a 12 minute game.

Somewhere between 30-50 usually. If it's 50 that usually means a few VR "experiences" and smaller telltale-style games.

I'm on 26 for the year so far I think, but I always play way more in Sep-Dec.

The deal is that a lot of games I like are very short and some are 100+ hours long, so it's kind of a mess, I'd say I at least finish 25.

Over 100 but not all of them are feature length.

At this rate my steam backlog will take roughly another 6 years to clear.

I probably average about 1 a month, sometimes a little more or less depending on the size of the games I'm playing. But definitely less than 25 lol

I am going to finish more than 50 this year, but that is because I have been REALLY pushing to put a dent in my backlog. I would say I typically beat about 12 a year. However, there have also been years where I have probably have beaten any.

2019: 32 so far

I play maybe just one big game throughout a month, like Tales of Vesperia took me all of June to beat, Shadowbringers took me all of July, and Fire Emblem took me all of August.
But in between those I'll play stuff that doesn't require much time commitment that I can beat in one or two sittings, like Superhot.

This year I've done:

Resident Evil 2
Devil May Cry 5
Sekiro
Final Fantasy 8

Still have Catherine Full Body and Death Stranding to complete.

6 is a lot for me. I usually only play around 3 games a year.

Let's say you spend 2 hours a day playing videogames, it's a little more than 700 hours in 1 year. You can finish more than 100 games that lasts 5 hours, with that time.

It would be possible to reach 25 finished games in a year playing 30 minutes a day :p

0-25??

I consider myself pretty productive if I finish 5 games in a year.
So far I've finished 8 games this year, and that's more than I usually finish. I'm expecting to finish 2 or 3 more before the year ends.

I started keeping track and I've beat 17 so far. I imagine I'll beat another 5 or so this year. And I'll say that seems like a lot to me so 0-25 seems like a massive range. Normally it's probably more around 10 and the only reason I'll beat 20+ this year is because of GamePass giving me more to play beyond what I buy and including some shorter indies as well.

I will add based on people I know that like games but aren't as into them as me as well as reading responses here. I would say beating 6 a year is actually a lot for most because that means you average one every other month and most people don't buy a ton of games a year just a few highlights they are really hyped for.

I can think of my brother who has bought a next-gen console day 1 every time and keeps up with news somewhat — he probably doesn't buy more than 4 day 1 full price games a year and I think that's normal for a lot of people that consider themselves video game fans. Those of us that buy a wide variety of games and beat on average over 1 game a month are definitely more active users probably in the 1% or so.

Last year was my best in YEARS. I hit 60 games, and while that did count a fair few short titles (Wario Ware Gold, Burly Men at Sea, Florence, Subspace Circular), it also included a fair number of fairly long games (Yakuza Zero, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn).

This year will be much shorter. I'm currently at 20, but even that doesn't properly account for where things will end as I was at 17 at the end of February. I've only beaten 3 games in the last 6 months or so, of which only Fire Emblem Three Houses was particularly long. Apex Legends captured me completely for a good 5 months and I played almost nothing else besides a bit of Tetris 99 when I had a few minutes here and there. I've finally broken free again (currently playing Gears 5, Astral Chain and Control) so I'll probably do better than 3 in the next 3.5 months but I would be surprised to get much over 30.

Somewhere around 10, but it varies a lot.

I think so far this year I'm at 3 or 4 so far. Probably will finish under 8.

Games are really long these days and I have two kids under 5. Free time is in short supply.
