Humble Bundle stopped offering "humble" bundles?

Well guys, since humble bundle started the subscriber thing, the traditionals bundle got off the spotligth and now they try to push us for pay the biggest tier of their former bundles for 2-3 games. I never saw as a good deal, but i was ok because the traditionals bundles still showed up.

But for some weeks now, it seems that they are done with bundles games outside of the subscriber thing, and the only bundles they put out are books/ software bundles. Its kinda sad, since i started looking for bundles because of them, and finally found a way to get games in a legitimate way that fit my pocket.

Maybe is more lucrative or whatever, but definitivily the deals in every other third party store are probably better and there are places where bundles are actually inexpensive(fanatical for example).

Someone else feel the same way? Where is your go to place for cheap bundles now?

They made a surprisingly good number of good bundles of books on web development, devops, programming, science stuff, etc. And those are really nice deals.

They just had a dry streak because of Steam sales (nobody wants to be in a bundle since you can refund games on Steam). It happened last year too.

They already were beginning to focus on monthlies pre-IGN, but the acquisition seems to have sped things up.

Canada, eh?
What? This isnt even close to being the longest time they have gone without a bundle. Its not like they can magically pull bundles out of thin air either. The fact that its been a couple of weeks since the last bundle in no way means the end of all game bundles. This seems like a huge over reaction

I think its as great as ever. Yea there's someone paying for the monthly bundle but there's always listings for codes from those bundles for dirt cheap and they are way better than any of the previous bundles by a longshot. Stuff like Dark Souls 3 + a piece of DLC I got for $4 from someone, normally that would be some $20 beat the average game and people would sell for way more.

The traditional bundles were starting to just be repeats, which was annoying in its own way. Great if you're new to PC, but if you've been a long timer, there wasn't anything exciting about standard bundles. People will still complain about the Monthly ones, but I think they're great, and the best value outside of what Twitch Prime's been offering up. This month has been insane on that front.

I know this sounds a little "old man yells at cloud," but the humble bundle stopped really being humble when it stopped being just indies. The original idea is fantastic; selling a bundle of indie games to raise money for charity and expose people to indie games they might not have heard of. But the more it's moved away from that idea, the more it's just another digital storefront competing with steam. Ah well.

IGN said there was too much wat.....I mean too many game bundles in Hamble's history, so they are focusing on non-game bundles.

Are you referring to the Humble Bundle Store which is explicitly another store front or the Humble Bundles?

Humble Bundle 19 was only a few months ago and was fantastic. Think some of y'all just being fickle. Fanatical might have cheaper bundles but they haven't been any good really. Most of the other sites like indiegala and groupees are just doing card farming trash. Humble might not be at it's peak currently but they tend to offer the most consistently interesting stuff these days still.

Pretty clear this month is slow probably due to Amazon's Twitch stuff.

I think this is likely correct. There isn't much reason to put out bundles during one of the two biggest Steam sales of the year. Also, with developers putting their items on sale there, they have less interest in participating in HB during that time.

I'm not too concerned, I doubt they're done. Plus, if you've got most of the games you want, it can make bundles that don't interest you feel like there is more of a lack of bundles than there really is.

Since the monthly is something they really push for and let people pay for well in advance (a year for example), I bet they prioritize getting games to that bundle. Then they look for other games to put in the different random bundles. Mostly genre themed or from a specific publisher, but there are still numbered actual "Humble Bundle"s too.
I mean, a bad monthly is really bad for business while a "bad" random bundle here and there is way less of a problem and might only make a thread like this pop up now and then. ;)

The Humble name is due to the charity focus btw. Doesn't matter if it's a big pub. It can be a Humble EA Bundle because you can give 100% to charity and EA is obviously fine with that. So... Humble EA.

Edit: Oh and of course they still have loads of non-game bundles. Focus for games moved to monthly while the other parts got the bigger and frequent random bundles.

I hope they do another Nindie bundle someday. I picked up some great titles for the WiiU with the previous two.

I've noticed the quality going way down hill the moment IGN took over.

used to buy pretty much every bundle that came out, as long as it had games I kinda wanted, nowadays I don't even look at it. Did sign up for the monthly a while back though because they ahd that $20 credit thing which was cool. Monthly's been good.

The original idea (giving greater visibility to lesser-known indies by bundling them with better-known indies) was great. But once IGN took over, the whole thing got scrapped in favor of making it a more profitable game subscription service.

I'd be bummed if there weren't other, better ways to find quality, off-the-radar indies.

They're the same site, and I really think that the priorities of the Humble Bundle Store have influenced the Humble Bundles themselves. With the increased gating of games behind higher price tiers and the shift from just indies to a mix, I really think that the core idea of the Humble Bundle has been replaced with something much less interesting.

This may be partially IGN's doing, but it seems that they're really trying to lean into their Humble Monthly service. I'm gonna go out on a limb when I say that it most likely produces more profit for them since there's no way for you to adjust your donation amount (unless I'm mistaken).

I don't think you can tie this to the acquisition, the business model had been shifting prior to that. Honestly I don't have an issue with the direction it's taken.

People have been waiting for the first dry spell since Humble was bought so they could tell everyone else how much they hate IGN.

Anecdotal, but I have noticed in the past that they slow down around the big Steam sales. If there's no no bundle tomorrow, then I'll truly be confused.

I've been wondering when we might get a "Nindie" bundle for the Switch... there were two Wii U / 3DS bundles...

This is exactily the point of the thread, I dont like where this is going. there was a time where we got 2 concurrent bundles of games, each with its own theme, now we barely get one, and some times are mobile games bundle.

And i dont get you guys praising the monthly bundle. All other subscribe services i know provides better game for less(except nintendo, of course), what so great about this one?

Also, while i see the ign argument, this is not why i created this thread. I'm looking for alternatives guys, and the monthly bundle definitively is not one.

I was there today looking to buy something. I'm a sucker for bundles. I do the year sub for the monthly but still like the regular ones. Fanatical and indiegala just aren't the same.
