okuyasuneeded more screentime, his VA is too good to just not be used xD he did the same voice on knuckle
Idk part 3 is so skippable i dreaded the jokes, dreaded the characters, even some battles were meh

Right now I'm trying to gather strenght to go back to reading MHA, but I'm afraid HxH spoiled battle shounens for me =/ whenever i watch that i feel like it's missing...something...so even though the series is cool i'm mostly underwhelmed half of the time =/
Then try reading Attack on Titan.

How is this? If I like Berserk, Black Lagoon and Claymore would I like this?

It's based in China unification, it has great characters, great art, amazing hype moments and with large army tactical fights even though the main character is more straight forward guy.

It's very very good, has atleast 3 top tier arcs and so far i only have been dissaponited in one side small arc. I highly recommend it.

Googled some scans and it looks pretty good.

Oh oh Mariip read Houseki no Kuni/Land of the Lustrous! One of my favorite recent mangas and I highly recommend it, the art is simply gorgeous. It's on a monthly publishing cycle though so if you're looking for a weekly manga it might not fit the bill.

Yea :(

I still have the weekly One Piece and Promised Neverland chapters to read but neither really scratch the same itch as HxH.

I don't think i could ever read one piece
I used to have Magi but the series ended some time ago and it didn't end as well as it started, which is a bummer, that manga was awesome

Yeah, let's try to keep JoJo spoilers out of this thread.

I still haven't finished Part 3 lol.

Soz! I assumed everyone but me had seen it all. The Succession War arc really is the Jojo arc. I will stop now and maybe try and find the jojo thread.

Dio's dead son. Have fun with Part 4, I love it. A 60 year old Joseph cheated on his wife with a 20 year old Japanese woman.

Jiji Jojo seemed to age a bit Clooney like so it's not too surprising.

One Piece is pretty daunting to get into simply because it's so long, but I still enjoy reading it every chapter release. When I first got into One Piece I think it had around 650-ish chapters. I don't know how Oda does it, but so far he's managed to have consistent quality in the 900+ chapters.

And as much as a JoJo fan I am, I think it'd be best to keep discussions spoiler free, or at least spoiler tagged, for all those still reading/watching their way through.

Bout jojo,Yeah yeah i got carried up, can't spoil jojo, i'm honestly surprised of how little i got spoiler wise for something so famous and i want to keep things like that >_<

We probably would have already been done with the Dark Continent arc proper, but oh well. I'm happy with what we have now and even happier that we started to get chapter releases at least more frequently. When I first started One Piece all I could think about was how much I had left, but I just kept telling myself that there was no rush to get caught up and to enjoy it at my own pace. I suppose it's not too different for someone who wanted to get into JoJo either since it also has over 900 chapters.

Thinking back now, I'm also surprised I wasn't spoiled on JoJo when I was first started reading. All I really knew about it was that it was quirky and everybody posed. Though to be fair I think JoJo has gotten more popular since the release of the Part 4 and 5 animes, which would make it a little more difficult to go in blind now.

I feel lucky the anime adaptations look like they've been done by a good studio, cause i don't think i could have read through all that, if i just have to read from part 6 to 8 I'm fine, with one piece though, therems no way to take a break, it's the same story for a long while, jojo makes it like you're watching three unrelated anime, thus keeping it fresh...

I kinda wished hunter was a monthly manga, even if we only get 20 pages, it would be much better to read bevause you wouldn't notice the hiatuses... we would get less chapters if this trend of 20/year keeps up, but I find the idea of knowing when the chapter will drop good...

Unless we get another election arc-like felease schedule, 30 chapters in one go, the dream.

If you like the over the top insanity and weird characters of Jojo then you should do yourself a favor and check out Grappler Baki. It's the martial arts equivalent of the famous Jojo line "That's bullshit but I believe it".

I suppose if you look at it like that, yea JoJo is a bit more approachable. Those 900+ chapters, while a lot, are split into 8 mostly self-contained stories.

I keep hearing great things about the JoJo anime, and the teaser for Part 4 was what made me start reading, but no matter how many times I try I have a really hard time sticking with animes. I just love the simplicity of reading a few chapters of a manga before going to bed.

The Jojo anime has been doing a good job at reshuffling Part 5 into a more enjoyable experience though.

I have read good things about it, and from what I see in the main and anime OT people really like it. Might get a Crunchyroll sub to encourage me to watch it.
Do like me and watch a week behind, not like you don't know what happens if you read it i guess, im not reading because im having such a good time watching i don't feel like it right now, gonna read part 6 for sure though, 2 years is too much wait if the source material is already there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Or just watch the op, that thing is hype

Totally don't feel bad about watching the anime instead of reading, especially if it's a good adaptation like JadedWriter said.

I decided to at least watch the OP and yea you definitely weren't lying. It's magnificently stylish and it's making me want to start watching it. The only other thing I've seen of the anime is the dance since it popped up in my Tumblr feed when it first aired. Yeaaaaa...I'm probably going to end up watching an episode or two this week.

I loved how they animated the dance, but I wasn't really in the mood back then to watch something, more so than usual. I'm motivated to give it a try this time though so that's a plus!

Maybe Togashi can get Murata to work for him again and help with HxH.

we'll go from having 20 chapters every year to having 1 chapter in 3 months and then next chapter being a revision of a former chapter, yay

Yeah but that chapter will be as long as an entire volume by itself and the complaints will be about how there isn't enough talking any more as Murata takes 6 pages to draw Gon taking 3 steps.

Fun fact though, Togashi was Murata's manga mentor. He drew this for Togashi's 50th birthday.

I would go with transmutter, i could create things in nen too like a conjurer except normal people just wouldn't see it.

I would love fire Nen...but I wouldn't want to deal with burning myself alive in order to obtain this.

Manipulated it them, if blood works then why not fire.

you just multiclass to emission so the aura stays away from your hands, like bomber did so he would not blow himself up

Which Nen type is reserved for introverted artist types?

I think conjurers are characterized as being private and high stung.

Temperament wise I think I'd either be a conjurer or a specialist. And not the OP kind of specialist, more the kind where I focused so much on one specific problem, that I developed some kind of hyper specific and borderline useless power.

I guess I can get fire Nen. I was always just thinking you obtained it by doing what Killua did with the tazer.
Killua took a shortcut because he can, it's like making a condition to his power: he gets an instant counter to humans but he has to recharge it everyday and feel pain while usin it :p

I guess with 5 years of burning your fingers on candles you could handle fire, or just do like bakugo and turn your aura into a flammable substance(well he does that with sweat but sweat is gross

Wasnt there a theory that all specialists are sociopats/psychopaths?

The Specialists got issues. Kurapika and Chrollo are like the nicest of the bunch.

Hmm, maybe, but that might just be circumstantial, with most of the specialists in the series seeming to be either charismatic or antagonists or both.

But if we're going with the temperament thing, I think it's more that you have to be an original thinker with a somewhat self-determined view of the world, and be somewhat convincing or able to impress those perceptions on people.

The best would be a Conjurer / Transmuter / Manipulation - Fire power.

Conjurer a cool suit resistance to fire like Feitan, transmute a small sun over you head/back and then manipulate the flames from it.

Now do a condition to strenght it like the suit losing it's resistance and cooking you, the bigger the sun the more fire/heat but you also overheat faster.

Voila some crazy fire power.
