Lol, the main reason why I was able to understand that Stand's ability was Togashi's explanation for his own version of it with Tse.
I'm one of the weird cases in where king crimson helped me understand terror sandwich's ability, they do have a difference but it's so subtle.

The wall of text Togashi gave me was comprehensible but too abstract so when i saw KC in action i was just "Aaah! Thats what happens"

All terror sandwich has to do now is donut someone for dramatic effect.

Reminder that Volume 35 (chapters 361-370) comes out in English next week. Though I've seen some people getting their copies early since they preordered from specific outlets.

Easily the slowest of the Succession War volumes because it's mostly setup. Highlights:

- Introduction of Steal Chain.
- More information on Guardian Spirit Beasts and those of specific princes.
- Benjamin sends out his private soldiers to keep tabs on the other princes.
- Short "fight" between Kurapika/Bill and Vincent.
- More information on Kurapika's Emperor Time (and Kurapika losing 5 years off his life after passing out).
- Tserr. beginning his Nen training with Theta.
- Death of 12th Prince Momoze.
- Small appearance of Chrollo.
- Beginning of Kurapika's Nen classes and appearance of Silent Majority.

Everything that is going on just makes me apprechiate this team even more. Why do I feel like they would of wrapped up this succession war by now lol

I'm not so sure. There are already several Nen users that are gonna be bordering on Royal Guard levels of power if they aren't there already. That and everyone is trying to kill everyone instead of one united front in the Ants under the King. That and fucking Hisoka still out there somewhere.

There's a huge difference between providing a few seconds of distraction to back up Netero and navigating the political minefield of the current arc. The Infiltration Team barely did anything of note against the Ants - they ain't doing anything the Zodiacs and all the other high-level Nen users on the boat couldn't do in the Succession War.

Just thinking on it but we're gonna have so many insane Nen users by the time shit finally does hit the fan. Not even just the Princes but Morena could be all kinds of stupid strong if all her killers can continue to level up or even reach a point where they can start the process over again. Its like the Pyramid Scheme of nen powers.

I was thinking about potential fights, and realized Illumi's never gotten a proper fight (same with a couple others from the PT).

Definitely want to see what he and Kalluto are up to in the next set.

Aside from a couple members The Phantom Troupe is looking a bit small time compared to some of the players on the Black Whale. The funny thing is we haven't even seen their reactions to the Nen Beast and the insanely strong Nen of the likes of Halkenberg.

Their experience with Nen and combat is the definitely the one thing that'll give them any kind of advantage. And Morel's words, as always:

But yeah, all the symbiotic-type abilities are just so up there. And then you have freaks like Tserr. :P

Counting on gon for recon and stealth assassination missions, that's a good idea :p

It was intentional hyperbole guys :P The OG team just seemed way more impressive to me since while it was a differnt situation they were absolutely dealing with much tougher adverseries, the top-tiers of the verse. Everyone on that boat would get run ove by a Royal Guard level save maybe Ging/Beyond [but I think they're on a different boat?]

And it's not like they haven't got abilities for stealth. Melereon only has the best stealth ability in the series lol. I feel like if they were working with Kurapika instead of the people he hired he'd have made more ground by now.

Oh yeah, i just think the current team more fit for the situation(despite having a much lower average level of skill)

It's probably dumb to ask knowing Togashi but I wonder if each of the Nen users cursing the individual princes have some kind of tragic backstory related to the prince they're gonna try and kill.

Probably not, what could poor Wobble have possibly even done to Camilla captain.
Being outcasts that were given a bigger purpose in life by Camilla is probably the only reason.

Maybe one or two but i think the whole point is that they are very loyal to Camilla to the point of attacking people they don't even care if are good or bad

Saw someone post this on reddit. Pretty sound idea and it's been mentioned a couple times before, but I guess I'd never connected all the dots.

Basically, the idea is that the ability of Tserr.'s horse Nen Beast is to turn liars/those who betray the prince/etc. into Nen Beasts for him.

The horse Nen Beast says to Theta:

De9gNAp.png

And Tserr. does seem to enjoy transforming/modifying the human body:

zkFlXtt.png

cVselmU.png

And something I'd forgotten about was the bloody mess in his suite:

ZFurtGY.png

We still don't know who that was, but immediately after that, he created the "Specialist Nen Beast" (as Theta calls it) that gave him the time/foresight ability.

So yeah. I'm not sure whether the Specialist Nen Beast is related to that dead person or not, but the idea of Tserr. getting a multitude of Nen Beasts is definitely... interesting lol.

--

However, when he manifested the new one, it looked eerily similar to when Pitou came up with her ability (though Theta says that Tserr. conjured his "without intent"). Top is Tserr.'s, bottom Pitou's:

KsInwwv.png

So it's probably unrelated to the dead person and the whole creating more Nen Beasts thing, but something to consider.

Some also think he's in possession of, or at least aware of, the Sonata of Darkness. And that would make things very interesting with the Melody plotline.

And remember this is on the stomach of that Nen Beast:

21 years ago today (well, yesterday at this point).

5009034-1487.jpg

And here's a guy going through that issue.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KlvxyI-2cY
You were right, Yuu di Hoshi. It was the first Meet Doppio chapter!

And speaking of Jump covers, HxH hasn't had one in 6 years.

Cover for the Kurapika special (2013).

cCFFwyH.png

Then the announcement of the anime (2011). The chapter was 317 (Meruem and Komugi's Gungi match as they prepare to die together).

Y3Vd80R.png

I guess it's been over 10 years (2008) since it's had a cover that wasn't for some special announcement. The chapter was Killua's Godspeed.

MNavOxY.png

Whether it's Togashi not wanting to draw a cover image, or Jump not wanting to push the series (because why would they give it a cover compared to others?), I can't blame either of them lol. But maybe it'll get one once things in the SW really start to heat up.

And if it's not okay to post the above images, let me know (I'm never sure with stuff like this).

I just finished my rewatch in the anime. Man, that ending of the ant arc gave me feels again.

I wish the anime could continue. I want to see Hisoka vs Kuroro's fight in motion.

I only know you from the camera thread, I had no idea you liked HxH. Yeah the ending is great, the biggest moments of the Chimera Ant arc cement it as the best Shonen arc. I would love an OVA of the Hisoka vs Chrollo fight.

I was just thinking about the Chrollo/Hisoka fight a while ago lol.

Chrollo is really a magnificent bastard. He had a great plan and the tactics used to accomplish the plan were executed almost perfectly. As for Hisoka, Chrollo is strong enough as is just getting into a random fight with him (he held his own against Killua's dad and grandpa), but then you want to give him prep and the choice to pick where the fight happens? Nah, you legit insane. It really shows how much Hisoka thrives for that life and death situation against strong people. Considering the circumstances, Hisoka held his own rather well.

I'll probably read through that fight again. I get the urge to do so every blue moon.

I find it funny how Hisoka gave all cards to Crollo only to get pissed off the guy used his friends' skills to the point he just started murdering all of his assets

Like, you knew that would happen

His obsession with fighting Chrollo clouded his judgment... just a bit lol.

He realized the way to actually beat him is to take out his legs first. Gotta get Chrollo rattled and off his game.

He bit more than he can chew.

Now a rematch would be nice after Hisoka's been done cutting the legs of the spider.

I was actually thinking back about that fight after finishing Jojo Part 7 recently and it really made me appreciate how Togashi writes his fights. There are very few moments that felt contrived in most of the fights and even fewer that I would classify as a useful asspull.

Jojo part 8 feels much better if you dig HxH... I thought spin was a bit bs on how they just learned stuff midfight and it was all about how to spin. Most of part 8 stands have clear limitations and some even are related to the character's hobbies

But i dont think there's a system as good as nen on that regard

Man 4th prince hatsu continue to be so broken, mainly because of the second stage. How do you even figure this out?

If his "future edit" took place immediately then you could eventually realize he has massive precog or something similar, but because his "changes" only occur after the original timeline happens it looks like he's doing some crazy super illusion or some space-bending bullshit.

There's no way to figure this shit out normally unless he gets arrogant/cocky and talks about it (which he probably will) or someone uses an specific hatsu to find out about it.

....FUCK

If Camilla's guard curses him EVERYONE IS DOOMED

Once this guy reaches the "blink activate" state we would need some Netero/King levels of speed to take him out before he even does it.
At that point another work around its going to be needed.

Or someone forces him out of zetsu

That wouldn't even work, once he's in full zetsu the time immediately stops.

Camilla guard curse ability would work if outside his view, but because that takes to much time to kill they are going for a close quarters curse and that is gonna fail.
