Ads are so unobtrusive on mobile that I just had to make sure that I didn't accidentally subscribe to Era Clear a while back (ironically my first big ad showed up on the page to subscribe lol). I can't imagine it would be worth the money.

edit: Oh true, I forgot about the huge "you won whatever" ad. I guess I always figured that was so horrible that it couldn't possibly be an ad purposely employed by the site? I don't even know what it's advertising.

And I'm sorry, but no, I won't pay you to get rid of your awful, "You've won a $1,000 phone for doing absolutely nothing! This is totally NOT a virus, click here!" ads. If you want to make the site unusable on mobile, then I just... won't use it. Not paying you to get rid of shitty ads, which you shouldn't run in the first place.
I've lost count of how many times I received that damn free phone shit here. I'm surprised those things get approved.

I think Cerium once said that long time it's better for Era to have ads instead of selling era clear.
Also given the controversies of the past week(s), I'd wait to see what happens here before giving any money to the site.

I don't see any ads anyway. And I've whitelisted the website.

I don't get any on mobile either.

When I'm banned and browse then I see them.

I've paid it for a couple years now because I had said before on threads about ads that I support sites with subscriptions and always block ads because they're a vector for malware. Though,
How much do I pay to remove bigotry?
What's been going on lately has me thinking twice. I think maybe when it's up I'll use the money instead for a poorly thought out Italian meal that happens to cost the same.

I’ve asked before but I don’t think I got an answer.

where does the ad/clear money go to? Is it 100% for site costs?

Yes, I subscribe to support the website. I visit it often and embarrassingly, it’s a staple in my life.

Seems so strange to see people completely dismiss the concept. If you enjoy something, why not support it? Nothing is free...

It's Era Clear, not Clean.

And I don't have it. I'm so used to ads that I don't really even see them, so they don't bother me (as long as they aren't pop-ups or full-screen shit).

If it was more then removing ads, like a subforum for subscribers and an active transparency board for literal investors of the site to help the moderation team improve the forum, maybe. But I don't even use adblock and 90% of the time ads don't show up for me.

The people saying they don’t use ad block and still don’t see ads need to keep their big traps shut.

If I really don't want to see ads, I can just block them. But if they aren't serving me ads anyway, seems odd to offer a service to remove them. I do get an ad occasionally, like one in every ten impressions or something. But it's so small I barely notice it.

I think the idea behind keeping it a silent status with no perks is preventing a pay for play system in which those who are financially able to support the site have privileged control over it, are not equally punished for breaking the TOS, etc.

My era clear is a pihole.

After that roofie thread that turned out to be edibles and moderation team decided to measure BAC over the internet, nah I'm fine. Plus this isn't even my favorite forum.

Have been getting some nasty redirects for more than a year on PC. It redirects to a site claiming it is my ISP wanting to give me a free phone, I just have to give them info they already would have if they were my ISP. This only happens on PC. Whenever they come up they usually last for about a week, and will pop up 20 seconds after opening a new thread, pretty much rendering the site unreadable.

I would feel weird paying to remove ads I shouldn't be getting in the first place.

Is it still astroturfing if it's your own website?
What is it with these threads lately lol

'' love our mods, thank them for their service ''

'' give your money to era! ''
It's a nice tactic to try and silence people by making them feel like no one supports them, hopefully it doesn't work!

So if I pay I won't have mobile ads that hijack my browser? What a deal.
