If we take Ryu out of it, who is the next most iconic fighting game character?

I've been wondering this, does Street Fighter hold the No. 1 and 2 most iconic fighters? Is it Chun Li? Guile? Ken? The demon himself, Akuma?

Or, does No. 2 fall to a different game and/or company. Is it Terry? Or Kyo?

The popularity of Mortal Kombat can't be denied. Perhaps the true answer is Sub-Zero? Scorpion?

Tekken is still a thing, and Heihachi Mishima would like to have a word with you. Or Jin Kazama?

Perhaps it's someone I'm not thinking of?

I'm tired of Ryu putting a quick end to these discussions, so let's take him out of it. Who's the second most iconic?

In a strictly fighting games character sense however I'd go with Scorpion.
