I don't know anything about his personal life or who she is or his relationship with her, but something about her telling the whole world about what's happening with him seems incredibly insensitive to me.
rolling my eyes at this statement. it is HIS responsibility to not be an asshole and make inflammatory remarks to his supporters. I don't want to sound anymore insensitive so I'll leave it at that.
You're aware that Etika used racial slurs against Jewish and Latin people, right ?
Even as a passive watcher for me it was always clear in these later 2 years that he is suffering from mental issues. Definitely a lot of social pressure and anxiety in there. I think it's not do much that he has illness, it's more that negative thoughts are consuming him. Negative thoughts can kill a person. I know because I had been haunted by them some time ago. My god it's not pretty
I was referring more to his first breakdown in October and how easily people let it go. It was a major red flag that he needed help and someone close to him should've gotten involved. Since then, he hasn't been streaming as much and his fanbase has been on his ass about it to the point where they rebranded his subreddit. It culminated in him getting angry and smashing a bottle on a live stream. People ignored it again.
People should always be more conscious of these kinds of warning signs.

It's our responsibility as a society to never sneer at the possibility of someone being in dire need of help, especially when there's evidence of someone making remarks about being god, suicidal ideation and being taken to hospital twice. He could just be doing it all for shits and giggles, who knows, but those are not ever odds worth betting on even if you really don't like someone.
The fact that the hospital is going to keep him for a full month this time I think the chances of him playing this for shits and giggles is very very slim this time and he has just been in dire need of help was too prideful to admit it, played it off the first time and just had it all explode to the surface this time.
Who said anything about those being fixed with a hospital admission? Do you consider the things people say during an episode are the best indication of themselves as a whole?

Do you think that while in the midst of a mental health crisis someone can say something that they probably wouldn't say in normal circumstances?
I've only really seen this guy in Youtube compilations in which he had one of the more interesting reactions to Smash. While he is not my type of content creator, I do feel for anyone going through legitimate mental issues. Hope he gets the help he needs.
I will not derail the topic as per the mod instruction, but will simply advise that you (and some others) heavily update yourself on both the terminology and the problem at hand. There is NO single and simple definition of racism and racial discrimination that fits everyone, in every case. The problem is, in fact, so complex that the study and research of racism is a heavily multidisciplinary field. I assume you are trying to be well intentioned, but the above statements simply come off as being tendentious.

Yes, what he said was fucked up. Nonetheless, stop demonizing other human beings, especially those who are not mentally stable. Mental unstability can make you think the absolute worst shit. It is fixed with medication and rehabilitation, not by forcing yourself to be more stable and nicer... And the "yeah well not all mentally ill people say racist shit!" talk is... look, if I say "yeah, well, not all poor people are thieves, so fuck you for stealing to feed yourself", or if I say "well, not all drug users are addicts, so just stop depending on drugs", do you not see the problem here? Even if poverty by itself doesn't necessarily mean you will do something illegal and steal, it can appear to be a necessity for some. Even if drug use by itself doesn't necessarily lead to addiction and dependance, it can happen for some. Even if mental illness by itself doesn't necessarily lead to psychotic breakdowns and saying or doing hateful or even criminal things, it can, for some. And in all these cases, you don't get out of this hole simply by stopping to do it. It appears to your mind that it has become a necessity, or the sole action to take, even if this isn't actually true. If anyone here is bipolar and has done stupid shit while manic or depressed, you know what I'm talking about.
If your defense against xenophobia becomes synonymous with an attack on mental illness, you need to grow some empathy instead of virtue signaling.

Etika needs to realize that he's not being himself. Hopefully the 1 month of hospitalization leads to a good outcome. I sincerely think he needs to take a break from the Internet completely for some time. Take some time to rebuild himself in a stress-free environment, and don't take the risk of acting like a buffoon online, posting porn or vomiting xenophobic shit. He has already taken several Ls the size of the Moon, he should just isolate himself from that environment and stay low for a while while he deals with his issues.

Also, Erika needs help. He should still be admitted. Him saying it's a joke just makes the situation he was in worse.
I'm fearful he will do this again. It's unacceptable and he needs to be watched and stay off the internet for a bit, for his health.
